CBC Plans Muslim Comedy
The Canadian Broadcasting Company has commissioned eight episodes of “Little Mosque on the Prairie,” a television comedy about a fictional Muslim family struggling to find its place in Canada’s Western prairies after 9/11, Agence France-Presse reported. Jeff Keay, a CBC spokesman, said: “The producers recognize that this is a potentially sensitive topic. But the show is a comedy. We hope people will laugh.” A parody of “Little House on the Prairie,” which ran on NBC from 1974 to 1983 and dealt with the life and adventures of a family in the 19th-century American West, “Little Mosque on the Prairie” will go on the air in January.

In a normal society, you would think so. But laugher is not the response you're likely to get. No, it will probably be more like bombings, Church burnings, throat cuttings and property distruction.

Canada either has a more sophisticated sense of humor than I gave them credit for, or they're just begging for all the al Qaeda sleeper cells in North America to converge on the CBC with swords, bombs, rusty knives and shrieking "allah ACKbar!"

Nice, peaceful loving family who just happen to Moslem move to the heart of Conservative Canada and are plagued with endless bigotry from a bunch of redneck westerners. Oh, the inhumanity of it all (sarc). Every chance the writers get they'll take a pointed jab at western Canadians and any related Conservative policy. This will be a pro-immigrant pro-Moslem anti-Canadian weep-fest. C'mon folks, it's the CBC. I'm hardly surprised.
