Hartnett Has His Suspicions About Wellstone's Plane Crash
StarTribune ^ | 10/04/06 | Cheryl Johnson

Count Josh Hartnett among the conspiracy buffs regarding Sen. Paul Wellstone's untimely death in a 2002 plane crash in northern Minnesota. The cover boy in this month's GQ says, " 'It didn't make any sense' " about the accident that killed Wellstone, his wife, Sheila, their daughter, the pilots and three others.

"He's angry, and he's not convinced that pilot error or mechanical failure or fog was to blame for the crash," writes GQ's Alex Pappademas, who noted that Hartnett "points out how close the race was, how Republicans were hell-bent on winning control of the Senate, how George W. Bush" made several visits to Minnesota "to support Wellstone's opponent, Norm Coleman."

Hartnett is quoted as saying, "It was really, really suspicious, but I don't even want to think that. I just hope it's not true, because that would just be so, so, so wrong."

Coincidence? Maybe, but maybe not!

"Using undiscovered evidence, we can now reveal the true identity of Jack the Ripper...

Jack the Ripper was actually Nessie, The Loch Ness Monster!"

Mark

Anybody remember what movie that was from?

My intuitive guess is that if these Dem candidate deaths are due to foul play (a big question), it's much more likely that the perps would be other Dems.

That's simply because political mob activity is historically linked mostly to the Democratic party, with only occasional exceptions.

Remember that totalitarian political organizations have a propensity for killing their own.

Very foggy, rainy, and windy.

But what about Rove's weather machine?

Not only did Heinz die in a plane crash, but that happened the very next day after John Tower (a former GOP senator) died in another plane crash.

All the theories/guesswork...

1. Heinz was killed die to a midair collision... Can't fake it... can't even make it happen....

2. Tower died in an Embraer crash in Brunswick, GA due a not-so-rare mechanical failure at low alitude and approach speed -- no room/time to recover or cope with the failure. Astronaut Sonny Carter, and two kids of a fellow employee died with him.

3. Wellstone -- three little letters... i-c-e

Just FYI -- no flames please

Wellstone, had he lived, would have defeated Coleman.

Mondale was/is a doddering old fool.

However, Mondale would have defeated Coleman, handily, if not for "The Funeral".

No. George Bush killed them and everybody knows it. Just like he created Hurricane Katrina and lowered gas prices right before the election.

Bush and Cheney did not bet on the match, but, very sadly,it was discovered that Tiger Woods did. He was reportedly also seen the week prior to the tourney having lunch with Pete Rose. These guys all stick together, and NONE of them is what he seems.

I heard that there were secret lasers involved. Secret government sort of lasers.

Well, well, well now. That makes a difference you know.

Shame they had to waste a perfectly good Airplane in the deal. King Airs are a very civilized ride. A Chevy would have worked just as well as in like; "Chevy careens off of Hoover Dam guard rail and sails 900 feet into the gorge". Piece of cake, and 3 million bucks in your pocket, just like that. Still dead either way. Mission accomplished.

Go ahead and laugh...but now you understand why they hate him. That kind of power can't go unchecked.

Can you post the last polling results before the crash? Seems to me that Wellstone was in trouble at the time and Coleman was edging ahead.

What a Dumas. They never have figured out it was a particle beam weapon mounted on weather balloons to be inconspicuous.

Oh damn!

When you look into the Heinz crash, two factors to be considered are the wife's character and what she had to gain.

Midair collision? Surely you've heard of suicidal pilots.

I'm not making any determination, other than it will have to remain a mystery.

If you understood the flight dynamics and physical solutions necessary to "plan" this -- the odds are beyond spectacular...

Not entirely impossible.... but might unlikely even if you were a pro giving it a suicidal go... the accident report is available through the NTSB
