Foley knows where the legal boundaries are, and the man made a point of mentioning his age.
How weird.
Wonder how much the young man wanted from Foley to keep this a secret.

The real scoop is that the page was under 18 for part of the IM exchanges.

The REAL scoop is that ABC, possibly at the behest of some political action group, misrepresented the IMs it had, and, deliberately or not, misled its viewers as to what Foley was saying to this person and when.

Foley's character is not the issue any more. It is the MSM's willingness to obfuscate facts in order to influence an election (again).

You are correct. The IM I referenced early had the teen talking about his fake ID during an exchange about going out to get a drink.

I have very strong suspicions about the authenticity of the IMs
I know you can cut & paste IM Text as well as alter them. But this point has never been made.

*If the former, he would have been 18 on Feb. 23, 2003; if the latter, he'd have been 18 not until Feb. 23, 2004, in which case he's still 20 (as of today).

You may be right. Maybe I just have Foley Fatigue. Keep in mind that that is only a snippet of that IM, and the page did in fact say he didn't want to do anything "illegal." What would that be? I just don't want to see us put all of our eggs in this basket.

There is still the looming question of how these IMs got out, who knew and who hung on to them to spring them now.
