A Day in the Life of President Bush - with special thanks to Tony Snow - (photos) - 10.4.06

In a busy day of campaigning today, President Bush made two fundraising appearances starting with a reception for Representative Rick Renzi in Scottsdale, Arizona where he also signed H.R. 5441 - the Homeland Security Appropriations Act funding the border fence - and then a reception for Colorado gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez in Englewood, Colorado. In his speeches he emphasized the importance of electing Republicans in the interest of our nation's security and strength.

Also today First Lady Laura appeared at two Republican fundraisers, one for Representative Curt Weldon in Springfield, Pennsylvania, and later for Representative Tom Reynolds in Amherst, New York and was interviewed on a youth radio station in Buffalo and attended a mock trial.

In addition, the Bush economy achieved new heights today as the Dow closed at 11,850...........the highest in history!

Today we are doing a special tribute, not only to our great President, but also to our friend and fellow Freeper, Tony Snow. If you'd like to contribute comments, we welcome your input, but we ask that all comments remain positive toward both the President and Tony to keep this our 'Sanity Island.'

This is for you, Tony...............you are a perfect compliment to the President whom we deeply respect and admire. You are a Godly man - witty, intelligent and combative in a gentlemanly sort of way, just as he is, and have proven to be the perfect spokesman for President Bush. You are, as he is, a joy to watch as you defend the facts against the onslaught of seemingly braindead pseudo-journalists' attacks disguised as questions, and we smile every day as you clean their intellectual clocks in defense of the President's strong, well reasoned, pro-American policies.

Many of us have prayed for you through your illness, thanking God for your recovery, and as you made the difficult decision to leave broadcasting to become President Bush's Press Secretary, and we thank God for not only your health but also your decision to sacrifice much to serve your country as you serve the President.

We know that you are self-effacing and humble (another characteristic you share with your boss), and won't take credit for the changes in style at the White House, but we also know that you have had a hand in a stronger, feistier White House presentation, and for that we thank you.

On this thread we express our deep and well-founded admiration for President Bush daily, but on this day, we have chosen to include you in our tribute to jobs well done.

Thank you, Tony, for all you do for your country, your President, and us!

Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose! These are great times to be a Bushbot..........AND a Snowflake!!

From FOXFANVOX........

Tony Snow was a person I admired from the first time I heard him fill in for Rush Limbaugh. He was courteous and upbeat but strikingly smart and informed.

The first time I actually met Tony was when he returned to his Alma Mater, Davidson College, to present some awards and give a talk on Washington life. Since we live in the town of Davidson, only five minutes from the college, I went over to hear Tony's talk. It was typical Tony, fact and insight, flavored with a bit of gossip. (Nothing mean.) Tony then remained in the auditorium to greet and speak to every student who queued up, and even to this middle aged guy waiting at the end of the line.

Tony exhibits that same easy access at his press conferences where he lingers afterward to clarify issues with the reporters who want to talk one on one with "The Man".

I have absolutely no doubt that Tony Snow's appointment as Press Secretary and his behind the scenes imput has contributed to the bounce that Pres. Bush got in the polls.

Many of us Tony Snow radio show fans, the SnowFlakes, miss our daily dose of Snow insight. But, we all understand that Tony has gone to a higher calling and he goes with our prayers that he may suceed in these critical times.

God bless the USA, Pres. Bush and Tony Snow!

Mr. President, Mr. Snow:

We in the Carfagno family remain in complete support of your war efforts and understand their importance in the greater war on terror worldwide. It is a great thing to look at the White House and see that adults are in charge, rather than the residents of Animal House.

Many folks in the conservative ranks have frequently lamented that communications from your office have been lacking in much of your first term. As the second term turns the midway point, it becomes crucial that the frequency and quality of your communications with citizens of these United States improves.

You have successfully come half way by adding our friend Tony Snow to your staff. The man’s got it. Whatever it is, he’s got it. Although we miss him horribly in the broadcaster’s seat, we understand and appreciate the choice he has made to serve his President and thus the nation.

Although we often disagree with both of you, especially on the borders issue, we remain glad that both of you, along with the other admirable members of your staff are at the helm. Be advised however, that the political party who gets the borders issue right, preserving the integrity of our borders and the sovereignty of our Constitution, will be given the opportunity to continue.

The party who is slow to come up to the plate, will wither away.

Consistently go over the heads of the Congress and the press and go directly to the people. They like it.

It worked with the interrogation issue, it will work with almost everything.
Mr. President, Tony, the more you are out there, facing and batting back those who would promote division, the more successful you will be in unifying the base and dare I say the country.

From TruthNtegrity....

To Tony - I miss you so much on the radio, that I find myself hoping for more and more Pressers just so that the Snowflakes can huddle around the "live" thread on FR, getting back together even for such a short time as a press conference.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful job you've been doing in getting the President's message out. We at FR have always followed the speeches by the President, and we know how frequently he has spoken on the war on terror and the job that our wonderful Military is doing for us in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But the message from the Communications office hasn't always been as clear and distinct as it needed to be and now with you there, it is a pleasure to see you take on the bias of those assigned to be White House reporters.

We'd like to think that when your stint at the White House is over that you return to sitting behind a mike and we can once again converse with you on a daily basis. Shoot, I miss all those links that AliVeritas used to post on the live radio threads. It used to take me several hours after your show was over to read all of what she had referenced on the thread while you were behind the nike.

Most of all, I remember my visit to see you at the DC Fox studios in Feb. of this year. It almost feels like it was last year, the memory has faded as you've gone on to fight bigger battles. But sitting, talking with you was such a pleasure.

I'll never forget it. Never.

Also from TruthNtegrity.....

To President Bush...... Oh, so much to say, so little time. I want to tell you how I pray for you and your family every day. I want to tell you how much I appreciate your trying to change the tone in DC - and how it appears that the ingrained attitude of the politics of personal destruction just cannot be willed out of DC. I firmly believe it would take years of attempting to change the attitude of making everything political. There are those who just will not make the effort to change. They enjoy the fray too much and are too used to playing the game the way it's been for decades.

Thank you for being a leader, for setting the tone, for telling America what needs to be done and then doing it, regardless of polls or public and private dissent.

I firmly believe that history will regard your tax cuts and economic policies as being responsible for turning around the recession that started before the attack of 9/11 but was certainly escalated as a result of that attack. I firmly believe that history will regard your Presidency as among the best in terms of protecting Americans from enemies both foreign and domestic.

I believe that this War on Terror will have to be fought for many years, on many fronts, and even the Democrats will finally realize that it will take years of dedicated effort to fighting the Islamoffascists. I just pray that the Democrats don't have to be converted to that position by an attack on America that occurs because the White House becomes occupied by a (D) President, who relaxes the guard against the terrorists, and we are struck again.

But it is a scenario that I've heard others voice as the only plausible way the Democrats will change their minds about how to fight the War on Terror.

Thank you for the glimpses we've been allowed to see of your family, of your lovely First Lady, your daughters, and of course, the Bush family pets. I always look for pictures of Barney and Beazie, especially when you are arriving on the South Lawn on Marine 1. I miss whoever used to take the pictures and post them on the White House wesite daily, during the first years of Barney's life. Whoever that was must have left the White House when you were reelected, and I miss the daily pics of Barney and his antics, which would now include pics of Beazie as well. We just don't get enough of those funny, endearing pooches.

Thank you, Mr. President, for your dedication and service to America. As you head off to your ranch at the end of your term, I am hopeful that there will be another Republican of your calibre to be Inaugurated in January, 2009. God bless you and your family. Sincerely, Carrie
