The Gospel According To James Carville (Burt Prelutsky On Liberal Fundamentalism Alert)
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | 10/04/06 | Burt Prelutsky

If there is any among you who still thinks the mass media isn't in the pocket of the Left, you merely have to compare how the Plame affair went from being the biggest scandal since Capt. Dreyfuss to a non-story once the crime couldn't be laid at the feet of Karl Rove or Dick Cheney. Of course, inasmuch as Valerie Plame was not an undercover operative, it was never a big deal. But once it turned out that Clinton colleague Richard Armitage was Shallow Throat, the media buried the story back among the classified ads.

Liberals who are aware that I'm not religious sometimes take me to task for not criticizing the Religious Right with the same zeal I bring to bear on what I refer to as the Religious Left. (For those unfamiliar with the term, it refers to those zealots whose Bible is the Gospel According to James Carville. The prophets of the faith include Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter.) The fact is I have nothing against Christian fundamentalists. Mainly, I disagree with them on the issue of abortion. But I don't think that those in the pro-life movement are evil; whereas I think those on the other side, those who promote 13- and 14-year-olds having abortions without parental consent, are.

I dislike abortions as a method of birth control, but I think they're a necessary evil. I've heard that upwards of 50 million have taken place since the Roe v. Wade decision. If there's an upside to that sad statistic, it's that 50 million unwanted babies weren't born. That's an awful lot of kids, most of whom would never be loved, never be adopted – 50 million kids, a good number of whom would grow up to fill America's future quota of rapists, pedophiles and serial killers.

The Leftists get extremely upset because they feel religious conservatives have undue influence every four years, when a presidential election rolls around, but they fail to acknowledge how much influence the secular Left has in college classrooms, in America's courtrooms and in the editorial offices of major newspapers every single day of the year.

Presently, Al Gore is touring the world touting his movie, "An Inconvenient Truth." His message is that we all have a lot more to worry about from global warming than from Islamic terrorism. He constantly reminds me why I'm so grateful that his home state of Tennessee went for Bush in 2000. If Gore had been president on 9/11/01, no doubt he'd have stood at Ground Zero and told us all how hot it was.

Whenever I see Gore on TV pontificating about his favorite topic, I find myself wondering whatever happened to the grand old tradition of killing, or at least maiming, the messenger.

Frankly, I find it hard to believe that even Tipper believes a single word that comes out of his pumpkin-sized head. As Mary McCarthy once said about Lillian Hellman: "Every word she writes is a lie, including 'and' and 'the.'"

I honestly don't know how any of the high-ranking Democrats can bear to look at themselves in the mirror when they shave in the morning. But if I ever run into Hillary Rodham Clinton, I'll be sure to ask her.

There is liberal fundamentalism. Its demon is Karl Rove, its sacrament is abortion and its holy water is global warming. And its saint is Al Gore. Like Burt Prelutsky, I'm personally grateful the people of his home state rejected him. Otherwise, we'd all be listening today to presidential sermons on global warming instead of going all out to defeat Al Qaeda. The next time the Democrats accuse Republicans of being too literal-minded, we can remind them of the liberal fundamentalists inside their own party. Who are as numerous as Legion.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

There is more threat to our Republic from Liberal Christians than ConservChristians. There is more threats from the leftist pacifist socialists to our Republic than the Republican leadership in Congress. The problem is, the GOP never enhances its own stands or agendas and never really attacks the leftist Dems on their agenda or scandals. Bubba was one but he also lied. Frank, Studds, Kennedy all are still in Congress. Leftist fundamentalism is secular humanist and never allows our traditions, our Judeo-Christian western civ values it its campaigns since they cater to the 2/3 of the nation who now call themselves unchurched and unsure of absolutes.

I fervently disagree with his take on abortion but get a chuckle out of this statement.

They do not produce a reflection. Thus it's easy for them to look in a mirror.

'the 2/3 of the nation who now call themselves unchurched and unsure of absolutes."
Most of these 2/3 of the nation are absolutely sure of absolutes in all their flavors - from the earliest Absolut Peppar to the most recent Absolut Ruby Red. And of everything in between these two.
