"It's time for the Republicans to fight back and, led by Hastert, point out how the Democrats continue to avoid the real issues of importance . . . and are trying to distract the American people from what essentially is a non-existent agenda on the part of the Democrats to deal with things that really, really matter."

Sorry, but hitting on kids is an important issue. We're not the dems - and kids are more than lame mantras on our side -- if Hasterd knew, and covered, he needs to resign. If not, he needs to create systems that will stop this type of abuse from happening in the future. Then, and only then can we ethically "move on"...

Right, vote for the Democrats and they'll pick your pocket, er, I mean they'll literally take the pants off of you! /sarcasm (nah-the truth)

What's the saying....The Republicans couldn't smear cream cheese on a bagel, even if someone handed it to them. I heard that last week and it was appropriate.

Talking about the 300,000,000th American? My unborn son is expected to be born on or about 10/17/06. If he is the 300,000,000th American, what do I win?

You go Rush!

The proper response for the GOP to this scandal should be--"Hey, when we found out that this guy was a sleaze, we booted him. Ask the Dems how outraged they were when Gary Studds got caught. Or Barney Frank. Or Mel Reynolds--who Clinton pardoned!"

Yawn indeed. I refuse to engage any of them in debate anymore. Their like stubborn, spoiled, stupid children. You can't reason with them.

Na, I am sure most of them are patriots and love this country very much, but are angry at Republicans and can't funnel that anger into anything politically constructive.

Like seeking out and grooming candidates for primaries, at the local and State level, much less the Fed level. Educating the public at the grassroots on Conservatism and how to ignore MSM negative campaigns against Conservatives. Creating our own forms of media to combat the massive MSM propaganda.

Producing results is far harder than whining and insulting those on your side who are not perfect.

I wish I wasn't. I wish the GOP had the desire to out maneuver the Democrats at every turn, not just during elections. What good is a majority if you don't do anything with it?

I'm certain some are patriots too...but many aren't. I've been here since 1998 and I've seen this happen every election. Screen names that you almost never see start popping up on every election thread with their anti GOP screeds and then after the election they go away and wait until the next election.

Rush is spot on. The media is helping the Dems along with jackasses like Washington times on the conservative side.

Rush is right that Dems will overplay it as usual and blow it all on themselves.

Hastert and other big government Republicans, like Bush, are at their best when they picking taxpapyers pockets the "legal" way.

Man, that Republican tax cut sure went in one ear and out the other with you.

We've all seen people like you before. In 2000, 2002, and 2004 the hyperventilating libertarians where saying that Bush was no different from the democRATS.

It seems like there is nothing that will ever please people like you. You want a politician who will be the perfect ideological standard at all times and in all respects. NO IMPERFECTION WILL BE TOLERATED AT ALL! You don't want a representative, you want a messiah.

Well, I've got news for you. Most of us here at FreeRepublic live in the real world. We understand that we're not going to get perfection, and we deal with it. We understand that sometimes compromises have to be made in order to accomplish greater goals. That's how politicians have always worked. If you want to see the Michael Moore moonbats take over Congress and screwup the War on Terror, keep whining and try to depress as many people as you possibly can.

The Libertarian puritans really take the cake for me. They constantly whine and complain that the Republicans are putting out wimpy politicians. Well, HOW MANY PRIMARIES HAVE YOUE EVER ATTENDED? If you're that upset with the Republicans, why don't you get involved with the party?

Hastert needs to say, "HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF BEING AN ACCOMPLICE TO CHILD MOLESTATION." Isn't that what you would do? Let's face it, that's what they're saying...that he knew Foley was engaging in this behavior and he did nothing. I'd be so mad and out there fighting...I don't care what it meant politically. What kind of people do we have running this country. It's mind boggling.

If the GOP stays in crouch mode through Election Day, they will deserve to get their rear end handed to them. The only way to win is to fight back - hard.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay the course!!!!!!!!!!

We just can't abandon the "New Tone in Washington" established by the Bush Administration at this crucial moment, when its needed soooooooooo much.

Besides, its worked soooooooooooo well up to now.

I recommend popcorn and a movie for Democratic Party members.

Any suggestions?

I think that this is my biggest problem with Hastert. Yesterday he was scheduled to call into the Neal Boortz show. After being told that Boortz might not be friendly to his situation, Hastert choose not to be interviewed by him. If he had come on the air and had the attitude your talking about, what conservative wouldn't like him?

If the Democrats win they will appoint all liberal judges just like the 9th circuit court.
