Senator Hillary Clinton campaigned for Democrat Jim Webb today in Virginia's U.S. Senate race. At a fund-raising appearance today in Alexandria, the New York senator praised Webb -- a former Republican -- calling him an independent voice to stand against President Bush's Iraq policies and the Republican Congress.
The former first lady and 2008 Democrat presidential contender brushed aside a magazine article Webb wrote in 1979 that said women can't lead men in battle and decrying their admission to military academies.
Clinton said the article was written 30 years ago. She said Webb opened up "thousands of positions" to women in his years in military administration.
Republican incumbent George Allen has been airing television ads in which female U.S. Naval Academy graduates accused Webb of creating hostility toward them with his article when they were midshipmen in the early 1980s.
Webb began running his own ad yesterday featuring two military women who say Webb opened up more positions to them when he was Secretary of Navy in the late 1980s.
Which idiot?
Dear meandog,
Not sure what you consider to be the problem.
Hillary Clinton, Democrat, endorses Jim Webb, Democrat. What were you expecting?
Why would you be supporting Jim Webb, anyway?
What is wrong with Mr. Allen that would not be more wrong with Mr. Webb?
Thanks,
sitetest
You were endorsing the democrat?
I was thinking the same thing, did people expect hillary to support Allen
meandog is a DU troll, who is allowed to exist here at FreeRepublic for all our enjoyment.
Maybe there's hope for you, you at least tore the sticker off.
...and lormand exists to prove that those who cannot argue effectively with reasonable retort will resort to asinine name-calling.
This is a conservattive Web site. That is a pretty incongrous post. Feel free to explain why you're not supporting George Allen -- and be prepared to have reality dumped in your lap from numerous sources.
You know what they say..."if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck"
I'm only telling it as it appears.
Don't know that he's a troll, but he's a libertarian, which is half way there. (this ain't gonna make me popular)
He is a highly-decorated veteran, who was Reagan's SECNAV and assistant Secretary of the Navy and he appealed to my libertarian leanings...
...But the anathema of the Clinton's (like a great stink you can never quite wash off) did him in as far as I'm concerned. I would expect his current neck-and-neck poll numbers with Allen to now take a great turn south!
That does not make sense because meandog is FreeRepublic's greatest defender of John McCain (RINO - Media), who as we all know, is one of the biggest recking balls to our liberties.
Maybe he is not being consistent? Nah...can't be.
Why wouldn't she endorse him? She had his baby. Oh wait, wrong Webb.

Smith:Hilliary, is that your poodle? What's it's name?
Hilliary: Stabinow
Smith:Where did you get it?
Hilliary:It was always hanging around all my campaign stops begging for MY congressional votes to share MY 2008 money for IT'S depressed state of Michigan....can you imagine that? HAHAHA!
Smith:HAHAHA! So did you give it anything?
Hilliary:HAHAHA, yeah, but you just stepped in it walking up the stage.
Smith:EWWWWW! should have wore galoshes, HAHAHA, guess that's what this rubber thing that fell out of your pocket is for, huh?.
Hilliary: HOW DID YOU???....GIMME THAT!
The second phase of the DNC campaign against Senator George Allen is now coming.
He is a fraud
Come on. Meandog has been on this site for about seven or eight years. Everyone getys to have an opinion. We don't all march in lock step.
