"If that sign is permitted, we're going to fight it," said Wahid Mahmood, chairman of the Democratic Party in Palm Beach County. "It's not fair to other candidates; it's a campaign slogan."
Solution: put up equivalent signs for each of the candidates for the seat, e.g. "A Vote for John Doe is a vote for John Doe"
Now these are the same guys who complained that the Florida ballots were too confusing a few years back?!

Solution: put up equivalent signs for each of the candidates for the seatThat would be fair. If the democrats were to argue that one, they'd look like bad tempered children who simply don't want to play fair.
Those from Florida might want to contact their representatives and suggest it.

As for the Dems' argument that it's a campaign slogan, the sign could just say something like: "The ballots were printed before the resignation of Republican candidate Mark Foley. He has been replaced as the Republican candidate by Joe Negron." That is NOT a slogan, just a clarification.
