We always win in the end, remember that.

Posted on 10/03/2006 1:53:02 PM PDT by Pukin Dog

Feeling the collective aches in many stomachs lately, I thought maybe it was time for another rant?

Where to begin?

It was only a few days ago when we were riding high, enjoying the drop in gas prices and looking forward to a record stock market close. At the same time, our enemy on the Left was beginning to panic, having all their various attack strategies failing, as Bush rose in the polls at the same time that people started paying attention to the upcoming election cycle.

I think it is important to look back beyond those days, and remember how often things seem bad for our side, with the Democrats in full-attack mode, how we could barely conceive of the idea that in the end, things would work out in our favor.

We will maintain control of the House and Senate, period.

Here is why:

We know our enemy. We know the Democrats and what they stand for, which is……nothing. The American people know this as well, and will even if by a whisker, not turn the nation over to people without a plan. The public will not be swayed by attacks on Republicans by those who don’t have a view, a position or a policy of their own.

You can’t beat something with nothing, no matter how much you dislike the ‘something’, and are frustrated with progress on a number of issues. No doubt, our politicians in the House have no one to blame but themselves for their current predicament. Be comforted by the fact that at least our side holds individuals responsible for their actions. Were the Republicans to behave like Democrats, Bush would be pardoning Mark Foley as Clinton did for Mel Reynolds who actually had sex with a 16 year old girl. Did you know that Clinton PARDONED him? I know, you didn’t hear that from the media….

Anyway, so what?

So we can take solace in the fact that we are simply more responsible than the Democrats, but that in itself doesn’t win elections. What wins elections is commitment, character and performance. Who on the left has more of that then those on our team? Even though many of us are rooting for Joe Lieberman, we have not forgotten how he put his positions in a lock-box, while running with Algore.

We don’t have to bet that most of America understands that our side is the side with character. Our side is the side that believes in moral values in spite of the cost. The best news is that the Democrats have “shot their wad” so to speak. I have it on good authority that the Foley matter was due to come out much closer to election day, but that there was major fear of Republican momentum taking over and becoming too strong to beat. While today, Democrats are rejoicing that Foley is the headline instead of today’s record market close, they have nothing but more scandals in their arsenal for the remaining weeks. They don’t have legitimate news that they can use.

That means that good news continues to work in our favor. Democrats can’t use the economy, jobs, or any other economic issues to their benefit, and for as long as they play the scandal game, they can’t use Iraq either. The Democrats, worried that Iraq was not doing enough to help them after Bush stole the attention on the issue, have literally LEAPED on the Foley matter in a desperate attempt to regain momentum.

In doing so, as they always do, Democrats are putting their true natures on display. Even in the MSM, even the slightest attempts at balance have been abandoned. This is their last shot, and they are putting everything they have into it. Anyone who saw the incredibly dense Chris Matthews on Leno last night knows what I am talking about. The Left has decided to do whatever they have to do, because so far, nothing has worked.

Remember Culture of Corruption? $90K in a democrat’s freezer kind of ‘fracked ‘ that up. (a little Battlestar lingo-Friday-baby!) I paid $2.42 yesterday in San Diego to fill up the beast, instead of the 3.30 I was paying a few weeks ago, so Dems can’t use the pump to their advantage either. Combine that against the news last week that regardless of what the Dems say, the American people still believe that Republicans do a better job at National Security. NIE, you say? Dems never though Bush would release the primary points, so NEXT?!? Finally, no one is convinced that Bob Woodward is doing anything with his book other than to secure his place on the Democrat tea party circuit. Otherwise, the Dems wouldn’t have knocked him out of the headlines along with everything else.

All I can say about Foley is…goodbye and good riddance. Someday, someone will have to ask how long the Dems held on to those instant messages while “children were at risk”, but not today.

Today, all we have to do is get our collective asses back to the polls again. Simple, huh? If that happens (and it will) just like 2000, 2002 and 2004, we will win the day. Without giving anything away, you can be confident that in the coming days, Rove and the boys will be showing their hand, and it is a much better hand then the Democrats are playing. Just like a few weeks ago, when we were so discouraged and it took only a couple days to snatch the agenda from the Democrats, it will happen again.

Conservatives and (most) Republicans understand the stakes, and we will beat the Democrats again. This time, it will be really enjoyable, as we sit back and watch the Dems try to blame it all on voting machines. What they will never admit, is that those 'voting machines' that they fear are us!

The media will howl, DU will close to all but registered members again, and if we are really lucky, CNN might bring back Judy Woodruff just to cry on air once again for old times’ sake. The cry fest will be long and loud as the Dems mourn over losing their last chance to get our President. Flags that don’t burn will fly at half-mast in San Francisco and Seattle.

This election is going to set records for turnout from our side. We know our enemy. The Dems wont know what hit them. There will NEVER be a 'Speaker Pelosi'. All this noise is just sauce for the Democrat goose. This rant is to report that very soon the gloves are coming off.

Remember, our side doesn’t get mad, it gets even.

No, it doesn't. He's gone. Dems keep their creeps in office. This was stupid on their part. Really stupid.

Billybob and Pukin thanks again for turning back these weak kneed Republicans who are becoming fraidy cats. You would think they would remember the DEM smears of 2000 and 2004.

Attaboy Wolf. I remember when the CBS Rather smear broke on a Friday in 2004. This board was crying and predicting a Prez Kerry. By the next Monday the Bloggers nailed CBS.

I'm actually surprised that this is not being spun as a Bush-bigoil SCHEME to manipulate the election.

I really must've overestimated the Dem Spin Machine.

I figured they'd spin "bad economy" if gas was high, or "cynical Bush plot" if gas stays low.

Maybe, like Clinton and the 90's bubble, the president really does get the credit, or the blame, simply depending on the levels.

As I prepare for my election season moritorium on all political news, I think it timely to say that America will do what it will do. At this point, there can't be many who do not know what the stakes are and even fewer who think that the head-in-the-sand approach to terrorists will be successful. At this point, the political parties have made their respective cases and all that remain are the contrived political accusations and scandals filled with outrage and posturing. I'm old enough to have seen that movie over and over again. In the final analysis, America will get, at the ballot box, what it wants. Afterward, all that will be left will be the virtually endless analysis of meaning, the hollow bravado of winners, the predictable complaints of losers, and either a strong or a weak path into the future.

LOL. You may have the longest record for being a lurker! Actually, this board was all over it, IIRC.

Best news I've heard today: Dick Morris on the Hannity show said he thinks Dems will take control of Congress. So that means we win! I have never heard Dick predict an election correctly. I hope he is wrong the way he was wrong in '98 when he said there would be a GOP sweep.

Glad everyone likes the rant, but what is important, is that you never allow the MSM or Democrats to distract from what is important. Too many on our side are guilty of helping the Democrats. Too many of us still tune to MSNBC. Too many of us are all-or-nothing voters, looking for an excuse to get mad at our own side, while never showing the same level of outrage at our enemies. It is time for us all to just fall in. Enough self-loathing, it is time to kick some Democratic ass!

Right, in the end when in the voting booth, nobody hears the negative ads anymore, just the topic that is most important to them.

"Yup -- gays and other liberals infiltrating the Republican Party!"

Don't forget the Free Republic Brownshirted Trolling Moles with great sounding posting names telling us with every reply or post, we must not vote to teach the Republicans not to vote.

The last time Americans did that, we ended up with Bill Clintoon and thousands of Americans died on 9/11 thanks to that sorrowful event.

In an unbiased media, what do you think would be the main headline today? The highest closing price ever for the Dow, or a political sex scandal? This is no accident.

Pukin right on!!! As Limbaugh said today my friend, this whole scandal was devised by the Democrats to suppress GOP turnout. They know they cannot win during a war on Terror unless the GOP base does not vote.
