I hope that if NK tests a bomb, Japan does the same the next day, and Taiwan the day after. Maybe that will make the Chinese and Russians realize that their dangerous game of chicken has consequences for themselves as well as us.

I thought we going to do something about this?

No, we won't do anything about this or Iran's nukes either. I suspect the U.S. government is resigned to the fact of a nuclear-armed NK and Iran.

Kim Jong Il: Hans, Hans, Hans! We've been frew this a dozen times. I don't-have-any-weapons-a-mass-destwuction, 'kay Hans?

Hans Blix: Then let me look around, so I can ease the U.N.'s collective mind. I'm sorry, but the U.N. must be firm with you. Let me see your whole palace, or else.

Kim Jong Il: Or erse what?

Hans Blix: Or else - we will be very, very angry with you... and we will write you a letter, telling you how angry we are.

Kim Jong Il: Okay, I show you, Hans. You'r ready? Stand a rittre to your reft.

[Hans Blix moves to the left.]

Kim Jong Il: Rittle more.

[Hans Blix moves further to the left.]

Kim Jong Il: Gewd.

[Hans Blix falls into a trap and is subsequently attacked by sharks.]

Kim Jong Il: There you go, Hans Brix.

It's not easy to pull off a UGT that does not leak. The US had several early shots that broke seal and spewed hot dust.

What will the UN do if North Korea a cloud of radioactive dust all over Japan?

And it will eventually reach the USA. The French atmospheric tests and later the Chinese tests were detectable over California when the cloud crossed the Pacific.

But as long as Foley is the news ("...the entire Republican party and most libertarians must resign today...")

This is shaping up to be a fine week for a news junkie!

China must want to test it's next generation of nukes. It is so handy to have a sock puppet when you are picking America's pockets.

Gee, what interesting timing!

Bob Woodward
ABC News (Foley story released after they held it for 8 months)
Kim Jong Il

Each 3 days apart. Is Howard Dean on a conference call with with Chavez, Ahmadinejad and Zawahiri right now to plan the next surprise? Meanwhile the turncoats on "our side" call for Hastert to resign and for the GOP to be "taught a lesson". Don't they get what will happen this this nation if the Democrats win? Have they taken complete leave of their senses?

"The DPRK will in the future conduct a nuclear test under the condition where safety is firmly guaranteed," the North's Foreign Ministry said

How come this reminds me distinctly of this?

I agree with the other two posters. Your juvenile comment is in poor taste and offensive.

its a bad year for freedom... communism is on the rise in south america, iraq is a shit hole, iran is building nukes with the help of its russian allies... china is massively building up its navy and army... and now north korea is building and testing nukes... bad bad year for freedom... when are we going to grab some balls and tell these countries they want to play with the big boys and have nukes, then they can see what nukes can do and start melting some of these cities with our own set of nukes.

"The Clinton Legacy - the gift that keeps on giving."

Call it the TRUMAN legacy--if that loudmouthed little haberdasher had actually listened to a military genius like Douglas MacArthur, Korea would be one democratic ("representative republican" for those who obessively hate the "d" word) nation with its capitol at Seoul.

I guess you don't recognize sarcasm when you see it. They could send one here, but I'm afraid the small city I live in, in New York State wouldn't look any worse than it already does. Lighten up, and you can refrain from the name calling. I don't remember addressing you in the same way.
