WASHINGTON TIMES ON TUESDAY WILL CALL FOR SPEAKER HASTERT'S RESIGNATION, NEWSROOM SOURCES TELL DRUDGE... DEVELOPING... Editorial titled: 'Resign, Mr. Speaker': 'House Speaker Dennis Hastert must do the only right thing, and resign his speakership at once... Mr. Hastert has forfeited the confidence of the public and his party, and he cannot preside over the necessary coming investigation, an investigation that must examine his own inept performance'... -- Washington Times, October 3, 2006...
I think the MSM should be hunting down Gary Studds and asking him what he thinks Foley should have done.
Well, Matt Drudge is reporting that the Washington Times will be calling for Hastert's resignation tomorrow. http://drudgereport.com/ Sometimes the pressure is too much for some, who can't even wait for additional information to come to light before drawing attention to themselves. And, of course, the Washington Times, which is despised by the rest of the media, will miraculously become an important authoritative source -- representative of conservatives and conservative thought. Unfortunatley, I expect there will be more of this, and I consider it utterly irresponsible. But they will succeed in drawing attention to themselves, having leaked their views to Drudge in advance of publication.
They sure ran a lot of negative articles on him.
The moon could be made of green cheese, too...
Exactally. That's why we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard.
You mean blue cheese?
Regardless of how we all feel about this, taking this out of breaking news is a mistake. This is huge breaking news and should remian there IMHO.
Jason Leopold is very real. He's part of this.
Bingo.
Some similarities with Newt's departure.
He was beat up badly during the 1998 House elections.
At least 30 House members wanted him to resign the Speaker's position before the election and he quit a couple of days after.
Republicans had lost five seats that week.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
Sorry, thought I had heard on the news he was retiring this year.
He should resign, if for no other reason that presiding over the total destruction of the GOP as the party of less government.
Now that it appears you are defending a pediphile, the question is, how low can you go. I recall when democrats were defending Clinton for having sex with a 21 year old young lady. I was apalled. I cannot even describe my reaction on this forum after your defense of a man seeking sex with underage boys.
ping!
Actually this might help Hastert, given that all of the sudden the MSM will be praising the Moonie Washington Times.
Maybe they think it's better if Jefferson lingers on and on and on--and Hastert just goes away.
Regardless of political party ... someone has to be held accountable. Just because the Democrats wouldn't do it doesn't make it right to let him slide.
Have you ever heard of Wes Pruden? If there was ever a journalist who was steadfast, it is Wes Pruden, and he has been applauded for many years for being for what is right, against all odds.
