I know Mark Foley. Mark Foley is a friend of mine. But in all my years working with him in Congress and on TV, I could have never foreseen this kind of scandal swirling around the friendly politician.
Mark and I entered Congress together in 1994 and spent the next four terms working together on legislation and political campaigns. Rumors about Mark's homosexuality followed him from his first day in the House and I even discussed the issue with him before he launched his Senate campaign in 2003.

Excuse me...never? You guys were electoral classmates, your district was up the Gulf Coast from his, you spent eight years working in the House together, and you got not even a whiff of a rumor that the guy liked 'em a little young? Excuse me if I'm a bit skeptical that Florida politics is that big of a world.
Scarborough and Herr Olberwomann are friends....nuff said.
You must be old!! :)
How long ago it must have been when it was scandalous to have sex with your spouse under any circumstances.
LOL.
why would Joe worry. Doesn't everyone have an intern turn up dead in their home state office.
One day his carer was ruined when the feds found a microscopic trace of coke by his bed stand.
Here's an answer you don't want. I don't care what anyone does in their private time as long as it's legal. It's none of my business.
Oh gosh, I had hoped that I was wrong. Absolute power corrupts absolutely? How discouraging. I'm still anxious to vote, but I guess it will be for the lesser of the two evils. Puke!
Is Scarborough Fair?

That would be John Jenrette(ABSCAM) and Rita. He was a rep from my hometown Florence/Myrtle Beach, SC. Total scumbag.
Ditto!
After his idiotic, Is Bush an Idiot show I swore I would never watch another moment of that moronic creep's show ever again!
He makes me sick and he is NOT a Republican, probably never really was...most likely only still pretends to be so that his "sharp criticism of all things [read: HIT JOB] GOP" supposedly carries more weight with the liberal loons that mainly make up the MSNBC audience.
Woodward's gay?
Rita Jenrette. Her husband John was one of the Abscam guys. I remember enough of what she looked like to say I can't entirely blame him...for the other thing, not the bribery.
(Wikipedia says the Capitol Steps comedy ensemble took their name from that incident. Can anybody confirm? The Steps website doesn't say.)
Next on the hit list will by David Drier.
Not only were Scarbourough and Condit friends but a female aide of Scarbourough's was found dead in his Florida office while he was in D.C. The left complains that he didn't get as much press as Condit did, but Lori Klausutis fainted and hit her head on a desk when she was alone. The problem was that the coroner who found that she had an cardiac arrythmia had a record of falsifying autopsy reports in another state.
me too....I've often wondered about John Kasich. I always thought he had a great political career ahead of him
Good example.
I have definitely heard Drier is gay.
Anyone know for sure? (not sure what that would look like, but would love to hear from someone who knows, for sure....).
I am still inclined to think, that where there are specific rumors of someone being gay, he probably is. But I would like for someone to give a concrete counter-example, if they have one.
The page program is a good one, and gives a few dozen teenagers a year a chance to work in DC. A lot of them go on to work in politics. A lot of them.
It's silly to damn an entire program of such long standing over the pecadillos of one congressman, don't you think?
Wasn't Scarborough also a friend of Condit's?
He's another finger-in-the-wind pundit. Worse than being a friend of Condit's, there was a dead intern found in his office who was rumored to be involved with him. He wasn't charged, but it smelled enough to compel him to retire.
I noticed how Joe has been joining the anti-Bush, anti-Repub choir these days. Maybe it's just as well he goes over to their side.
