In an interview on the Fox TV, Erdogan said that religious leaders should refrain from using the words of Islam and terrorism together.

Yes, whatever you do, don't mention anything about Islam and violence...or they'll either blow you up or cut your head off (or both).

"The Islam(ic) world will be relieved if the Pope makes a full apology."And if he doesn't???More rioting?Church burnings?Murdered nuns?Maybe issue another fatwah against the Pope?I've come to the conclusion that many(most?)muslims cannot live peacefully in civilized society.

How about: "Christan world will be relieved if the Muslim world knocks off all their craziness and quits trying to change the Western way of life."

When Muslims conduct terrorism and Islam together, it's sort of hard not to talk about it.

They talk about it. Why can't we?

If remarks, cartoons or operas can hurt your god, he's a wimp. He's no better than the idols that must be carried about, that have eyes to see and can't see, and ears to hear, and can't hear; and those that worship them are like them.

Yes. The Western world

would all go away . . .

The Pope has never apologized for his talk. He has only said he is sorry that the Muslims (and by implication the MSM) misinterpreted what he said.

What's bothersome about this particular statement is that the Generals are allowing Turkey to drift further and further away from Attaturk's legacy, back into the Islamicist camp.

What the Pope told the Arab ambassadors, without permitting them to reply, is that he is ready to talk with the Muslim world about why religion must be rational. And he is ready to talk with them about reciprocity. If Muslims expect to be tolerated in Western countries, then Christians and Jews must be tolerated in Arab countries. If mosques are allowed in Rome, then churches should be allowed in Saudi Arabia.

That's what the Pope is saying, and evidently the Turkish government doesn't like it. And Erdegun would not be allowed to speak out on this crucial issue without the approval of the Generals--the same Generals who refused to permit the US Airborne troups to cross their territory into Iraq, thus siding with Chirac and Saddam.

"We should refrain from remarks which may overshadow alliance of civilizations>>"

Alliance of civilizations? But Islam has made it clear that the only acceptable outcome is for all civilizations to submit to Islam.

Yes, please lie to us. What's the pope supposed to apologize for - knowing the truth or being Catholic?

"Secularism is a system that protects the country and nation against extreme movements. As the government, we are taking measures against extreme movements. Secularism is an insurance for different life styles."

This guy has it right.
