I've been as drunk as the next guy, but I never tried to proposition the next guy.

Many people do. Unfortunately the courts tend to tie all things to drug and alcohol use.

Wait a minute...that NJ Governor did the same thing, and he's on Oprah! And a Rep who was a Kennedy relation did rehab, and he's already off the media radar with a nod for forgiveness because of what he's been through. Do I smell...a double standard?

Hey Foley...the liberal media won't give uo "ada-boys" like they will a KENNEDY when they use it for an excuse.

The guy should be in jail not re-hab. That said, yesterday I sent the following message to the Speaker, the not so honorable Denny Hasert:
I am a Republican from New Orleans, LA, sadly represented by Dollar Bill Jefferson. But you, sir, are as bad as any other political whore in the Democrat party you knew about the Foley situation and you kept it secret for months what was the reason for covering for Foley? The only possible explanation is your desire for power and the fear of losing it. That is reprehensible and cannot stand at this point the only reason I want to keep unethical Republican trash like you as the majority is that my fear for the country if the Democrats take power is greater than my disgust with you. At the very least, you should resign as Speaker.

Why didn't he just change parties? All of this would be forgiven on the other side of the aisle.

Hey, it worked for the Kennedys.......
On second thought. I find it rather amusing that everyone anymore blames their problems on something else. Now I'm not that old, but I do remember being taught as a boy all about personal responsibility for one's actions. I think not only Foley, but a lot of these people who get caught being imperfect humans show an immense lack of character by blaming booze, (or prescription drugs, pornography, too much coffee, whatever), for their own failures.
Well, at least Foley had the good sense to resign. Gerry Studds never did, nor did Patrick Kennedy....or William Jefferson Clinton, for that matter. So who are the real hypocrites here?

Isn't it pathetic! I just had a glass of white wine, and have miraculously managed to restrain myself from Internet perversion...other than posting here! (LOL!)
