I thought this link would be of value regarding the AZ district 8 election.

If you go to the link

http://tray.com/cgi-win/x_IndepExp_SQL_By_State_Date.exe?DoFn=&Count=20060901&sYR=2006

You will find the following from about 8/22 to 9/22:

1. The NRCC spent about 100,000 dollars supporting Huffman.

2. The DCCC spent about 200,000 dollars opposing Huffman and about 0 dollars opposing Graf.

3. The Minutemen have spent about 45,000 supporting Graf

4. After the primary, the RNCC spent about 16,000 supporting Graf and about 70,000 opposing Giffords.

From this I conclude that the Democrats wanted to run against Graf and not Huffman. The Republicans wanted Huffman to beat Graff. After the primary, the Republicans gave some mild support to Graf before withdrawing.

The national Republican party meddled in our primary. It was for the voters to choose their nominee and they have, Randy Graf.

We hear this nonsense about moderate Republicans and how electable they are. We've had one here since 1984. He stinks. Jim Kolbe is an embarrassment. He often votes with the Dems.

Randy Graf will not vote with the Dems on virtually any issue. Huffman would have been just another Rino. But our left wing Republicans are lefties first and Republicans second. That's why Jim Kolbe is still fighting the party nominee after the primary has been settled.

Jim Click has been very magnanimous about unifying the party down here. He's one of the biggest wheels in the area. Karl Rove was just down here. Are you going to support our nominee or keep re-fighting the primary?

I feel the animosity against the rncc to be uncalled for.

The dccc was bashing huffman with more money than the rncc was supporting huffman.

The rncc did support graf briefly.

I think the process was more than fair for graf.

#15-17. Were paid for after the election on the 12th.
There is about $80K against Giffords during that time frame; after the election.

I Dont know if they pay after the fact, up front, or how the contracts are rendered for services and how fast the media companies need to be paid after the ads run. Without that info you are making assumptions that could go either way.

Huffman spent $500K to lose. Local estimates are up to $800K on the primary.

Kolbe only spent $250K in '04, all of it on sliming Graf.

Go to WWW.Opensecrets.org and look up cd 8

this is what I concluded

"From this I conclude that the Democrats wanted to run against Graf and not Huffman. The Republicans wanted Huffman to beat Graff. After the primary, the Republicans gave some mild support to Graf before withdrawing."

Do you disagree with anything there ?

The NRCC promised and pledged to stay out of the primary.

Your website does not categorize how much of Huffmans campaign money was spent by Huffman against Graf.

This is in violation of the "11th Commandment".

I am going to assume the bulk of the advertising paid for by the NRCC was run against Graf. This is an extreme waste of money. This is the "Ground Truth". I live in Tucson and had to listen to this crap and cringe when it was on the TV and radio.

Then to have so-called "conservatives" that are operatives of the RNC and NRCC come on this forum and smear Graf on the evening of the election, after he had won was the top.

You are assuming the folks of CD8 arent intelligent or aware enough of the machinations of DC.

There are still postings on DC websites smearing Graf, and repeating DNC talking points that he's a racist, Duke supports him, he's unelectable, yadda yadda yadda.

Tom Reynolds, the chair of the NRCC was personally informed of the breach of protocal of the NRCC during the primary and took no action. What comes around goes around. He is going to have issues defending his own seat in his own district. He will probably lose it to the Rats, due to hometown economics and the Foley issue.

Elections are not won on money alone. There are upcoming debates and Randy will wipe the floor with Giffords. Of course it probably will never make the local or national media. Those that vote will vote on the issues, not because some national PAC gave money one way or the other.

Lack of integrity by the NRCC has left alot of us southern Arizona Conservatives with a sour taste in our mouths that will last a few years, after all, dont Republicans have good memory?

At least the NRCC could do is force Huffman and Kolbe to be gracious and concede. Giffords is using quotes by Kolbe against Graf. The ads run daily, saying how he is extreme and cant be trusted and Kolbe does not endorse him.

But I guess if you are a RINO, you have no rules to abide by or to be gracious or forced to be gracious by the national party elite. Clubmembers dont have to apologize, they are clubmembers after all.

Graff won the primary. I will hold my tongue until after the general just as I have with Harris. If both races end in a democrat blowout as the polls presently show I will have a lot to say.

I ask a simple question in post 6.

Of course huffman is campaigning against graf, in 2004 graf campaigned against kolbe, in 2006, graf campaigned against huffman.

Now, I was wondering if you disagree with my conclusions in post 6 which includes saying that the rncc wanted huffman to win.

"From this I conclude that the Democrats wanted to run against Graf and not Huffman. The Republicans wanted Huffman to beat Graff. After the primary, the Republicans gave some mild support to Graf before withdrawing." The Democrats have a tendency to prevaricate. They show no originality.

Both the Rats and Huffman run the same ads with the same unoriginal smears from 2004. We know what the smears are, we have heard them since Randy's run in 2004.

Nothing has changed. They sound the same as the ads against Huffman.

Guess what? Graf still won the primary. Graf did not win with the support of NRCC in the primary, and can do it without them in the elections, although having some Republican monetary and verbal support would be nice.

This election will have clearly defined competitors from opposite spectrums -

One supporing GWOT, one against GWOT, One for Border Security first and against amnesty for the illegals, One against border security first and pro amnesty.

One candidate who has successfully operated a small business and one who has bankrupted and sold out a family business.

One candidate who is personally against abortion, another candidate who is pro abortion.

One candidate who is owned by noone, another candidate who is "pelosi's poodle" and bought and paid for by the Unions.

The issues are pretty clear. There is only one Republican Conservative running in the November election in the AZ CD8 district.

Also, Karl Rove came to town asking for Republican support this week. I have not heard any feedback from the Graf supporters at the luncheon.

Sure they wanted him to win. They spent 125K wanting him to win. The problem is, the NRCC broke their own promises not to interfere. The problem is the NRCC brought in neighboring states Republican parties' cash to endorse Huffman, and bought ads to smear other Republican candidates, when they said they would not.

Then when their candidate loses, their endorsed candidates dont concede and dont force the retiring R-RINO Kolbe to STFU, concede or play nice. Kolbe continues the smear campaign to this day. Huffman has extremely weakly conceded to Graf. Isnt that real nice of them?

Would you trust the NRCC?

I think the NRCC is doing what it thinks is best for the party and country.

I thought I was being pretty fair and balanced in my conclusions that yes the NRCC intervened for Huffman and against Graf in the primary. But just the mere mention of the fact that the DCCC intervened against Huffman and for Graf has put you over the edge.

I guess any comments other than the RNCC SUCKS AND GRAF IS GOD are apparently not welcome.

I think the NRCC was bamboozled by Kolbe and to a lesser extent Huffman, and the local chamber of commerce (Jim Click).

If you only talk to a couple of folks thats the message the NRCC will hear in DC. Kolbe had standing and support. He is probably the spiteful stringpuller and logically so.

The DCCC is using the same type of ads Huffman and the NRCC used against Graf.

I will say the NRCC strategy has not been the best, even if the goal is to keep (R) in house seats. From what I have seen here they have been fair to Randy, post elections.

It's kind of hard to understand when the news comes from Rahm Emmanuel and national media, instead of a local press release from the NRCC, about the funding redirection.

Kind of hard to follow the NRCC strategy.

Graf won, he's the candidate and the GOP should be backing him all the way.

Jim Kolbe is an embarrassment.

Kolbe is a weasle, too bad he didn't retire long time ago.

Anyone who thinks Giffords will change things in DC is kidding themselves. Just read about this sweetheart deal she made before she was elected to the state legislature.
Shows she was already in with the political cronies.

Just imagine what she will be willing to do with the contacts she makes in DC to enrich her corp. further. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
