CA: Yes on Propositions 1B, 1E; no on 1C, 1D
The Argus ^ | Oct. 1, 2006 | The Argus

-Proposition 1B: The biggest chunk, $19.9 billion, is for transportation projects that will cost $38.9 billion to repay. Most of the money, $11.3 billion, would be spent to improve highways and local roads... YES

Proposition 1C allots $2.85 billion for housing and shelter...But this is a sector of our economy in which public and private funds compete. NO

Proposition 1D would upgrade and build more schools at every level...NO

Proposition 1E is a $4.1 billion bond to improve disaster preparedness and flood prevention...YES

We cant afford everything we need right now. But voting no on every measure is not in our states best interest, either. Providing funds for our crumbling transportation infrastructure and vulnerable levees are our most pressing needs.

She's another one that supports the soviet model. Toll roads, sustainable development... Agenda 21 all the way.

We shouldn't be using State general funds to pay for local roads. Why should folks in Eureka pay for local roads in Los Angeles?

Hey Tork? How's the roads up there?

It's been an informative thread. Now I understand why Arnold and his cronies are so desperate to get more transportion bonds. Emergency "borrowing" for other thinds.

Your little poems are a welcome addition to the thread.

They hit the nail on the head. :)

Vote NO on any bond. The State takes in more than enough money. They don't need one penny more in revenue.

The State takes in more than enough money.

But Arnold needs more transportation funds to borrow for "emergency" spending on other things.

"In a scathing report to the state Legislature released last week, the California Transportation Commission blamed the practice of borrowing Proposition 42 funds for holding up untold numbers of highway and transit improvements throughout the state."

Next time you're stuck in traffic, remember to thank Arnold!

Vote YES on Aaaahnold, vote NO on his bonds. (Isn't that the sort of thing the squishy middle would appreciate?)

It's a hard habit to kick,, they got away with it for years with revenues intended for road funds.

Of course Arnold fully expects that the 15 year no-interest loans he sucked out of our transportation funds might eventually be repaid.

We will not get a dime of any of this bond money here. At least 70% of the 160,000 mile of roads FO squeals about are county and city roads and it was Arnoid and company have robbed us blind of the local funding raised for them. The state needs that for their slush fund for the CTA!!!

We might as well give Arnold his bonds. He and his Rat appointees will just swipe the money from us anyway if we don't.

There is too much crap on the ballot. I am just going to say yes on one initative for the levees and NO on everything else that involves a bond or new taxes.

Bailing out the legislature for it's lack of responsibility is not the electorate's job. the electorate's primary function is to "throw the bums out".
