To my FRiends here on TM, my brothers and sisters, I salute you. I have not posted much here for quite a while, and I have not even lurked here as much as I probably should have. Call me a wimp, but I struggle under the weight of much of the information here.
I do have the utmost respect for those of you (and you know who you are) who come here, and elsewhere, and fight the good fight every day. I have no doubt in my mind that your efforts have contributed to foiling the plans of those who would attack us. I will continue to pray that God will strengthen you and give you wisdom as you engage in these activities.
To Osama, Zawahiri, Azzam, and others of the same ilk, I say a hearty FOAD.
I came to this thread yesterday, and read some of the information about possible imminent attacks, maybe today, maybe this week, etc. Some people react to that kind of threat with a false bravado - "bring it on" they might say. I do not. If I have ever said or posted something like that, I now recant it. I do not want them to 'bring it on', I just want them to crawl back under whatever rock they came from, and leave us the heck alone.
I do not feel this way out of fear, but rather because of my love for this country, my family, my friends, my freedom, and my lifestyle.
Because of this, if the United States of America suffers another 9/11-style large-scale attack, I will say NO, and I predict that many others will also say NO.
NO to your intimidation, NO to your threats, NO to your coercion, NO to your false 'religion', NO to your invasion of this country, NO to your bass-ackward way of life.
If you thought the response to 9/11 was harsh against muslims in this country and around the world, let me tell you that you have seen nothing but an amazing level of restraint. That's right, restraint. Do Not expect to enjoy ANY level of restraint if you attack us again.
Since 9/11. this country has somewhat polarized into those who recognize the threat, and are prepared, and those who apologize for and discount the threat.
Another attack will shift those numbers significantly, and it will not be in your favor.
Additionally, we have millions of young people who are coming of age in the shadow of 9/11. You may look at these kids and scoff at them for being 'soft' and 'stupid', but when they realize they are in a fight for their very existence, you'd better look out.
And now let's examine technology. America supplies creativity to the world. You've got nothing you haven't begged, borrowed, stolen, or hi-jacked. Do you really think we are going to let you beat us with our own weapons? Think again. We have stuff you could never imagine in your wildest dreams. Attack us with what you've got, and you may find you are 'stoning us back to the bomb-age'.
So, jihadis, I suggest a lot of contemplation about 'cause & effect' before you take any further rash actions. Don't say you weren't warned.

What a sweet and thoughtful post. From day one, the posters and contributors to this thread have been nothing but diligent, respectful hard working and very nice to know.
I very much understand that sentiment...it happens to me as well...and I take breaks from FR and the news in general at those time...usually work necessitates these breaks for me.
