Actually, it's a pretty good point and I think it is, in fact, a matter for history. I think it's that kind of detachment of time that will be needed to look at the situation without the passion of the time. But on the whole, I suspect your analysis will prove insightful.

ANNA GREENBERG (Vice President, Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research Inc.): I think what surprised me the most was how part of the mainstream evangelicals are. They watch the same amount of television, they live in the same places, they go to churches of the same size.

The biggest difference is their beliefs and their practices. They have very strong and conservative religious beliefs, and they put them into practice at a level of great intensity, compared to anybody else.

You are right. Card's job was to provide his opinions and options to THE PRESIDENT, NOT Bob Woodward.

Citing information gleaned from former Presidential confidants is interesting, but all blabber mouths aren't equal. We live in a different era where information is accessed immediately. Congressional decorum and setting one's personal political aspirations aside for the good of the country have become secondary to the game of political gotcha, which only results in harming our troops and country.

Harvard - John F. Kennedy School of Government: Assistant Professor of Public Policy

Greenberg's professional life includes years of experience on political campaigns and in survey research. She worked as a field worker for Senators Christopher Dodd and Joe Lieberman, as well as Rosa DeLauro's deputy press secretary in her run for Congress in 1990.

Greenberg worked in the polling unit of the 1992 Clinton/Gore campaign and continues to have a strong interest in political survey work.

Finally, Greenberg worked on a special project at the National Opinion Research Center, which surveyed the technologies of survey research organizations.

Greenberg is affiliated with the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy.

Her courses include, "Mobilizing for Political Action" and "Gender, Movement Politics and Public Policy." She received her B.A. from Cornell University and her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Chicago.

You're right ... Andy Card is not conniving or manipulating .. he's a decent, loyal, straightforward guy. I still believe he should never have delved into any private admin issues with Woodward period. Imagine how different the situation would be now if he hadn't.

That was it. Last week they added an extra showing since the Clinton interview was such a bombshell. Chris Wallace said, today, that interview was the gift that just keeps giving... said Clinton was actually threatening to fire people as they were leaving the studio.

PS .. I saw "The Guardian" today with Kevin Costner .. I enjoyed it .. thought it was done well. The Coasties, especially "the swimmers," get so little recognition and appreciation for what they do, so this is a great tribute to their dedication and skilled professionalism.

What gets me is that most of these Congresspeople are relatively well off...some are just downright rich.

That said...look at Henry Waxman, WHY OH WHY wouldn't he get a nose job or something???

Thanks for the head's up. I watched Ebert's son and the other guy reviewing the movie, and the other guy didn't like it. Said it reminded him too much of a combo between a Few Good Men and an Officer and a Gentlemen script. That said, they both agreed with you on the tribute to the Coast Guard as a whole.
