The Talk Shows
Sunday, October 1st, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif.; former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf; Sen. Mike DeWine, R-Ohio, and his Democratic opponent, Rep. Sherrod Brown.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Presidential counselor Dan Bartlett; Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Bartlett; Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa.; poet laureate Donald Hall.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Bartlett; U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad; Sens. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., and Christopher Dodd, D-Conn.; former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
High noon on CNN has Wolf Blitzer and Dana Bash going on and on about "the Foley fall-out". mostly how republican leaders kept it secret since 2005, finally making it clear all the republican leaders knew about were the over-friendly emails, NOT the sexually explicit IMs. But Blitz still reads a sexually explicit IM as if Republicans knew about it long ago. Dana Bash does repeat, "that's what republican leaders didn't know about".
Blitzer can't seem to understand the difference betwween emails and IMs, or the timing of what republican leaders knew. "can't seem to understand", or is just too anxious to accuse rep leaders of "turning a blind eye".
Remember all the women in the administration going out on the White House grounds and saying they believed him when he said he did not have sex with that woman.
Not a one ever got an apology. They're expected to do his bidding, or else.....get invited to a picnic at Ft. Marcy Park???????????
For the time being it seems to have taken over from the hate Cheney rhetoric interesting they both have a similar political background.
""He may well have counseled a change for reasons other than the way he was fighting the war."
You are right, that is Card's job...but he made one mistake...he shared his concerns with Woodward....I am sure Card *trusted* him because of his previous two books re this Admin....but that was a huge mistake on Card's part...never trust a rat!......Card even admitted today that he was too candid with Woodward.....hindsight is always 20/20....another mistake on Card's part.
Dick Morris pointed out that slick willie was threatening the reporters with retaliation about their personal life if they bring up anything about his or hilary's.
I agree. I still believe Clinton was prepared to recreate a Sister Souljah moment if he could, but then his ego and paranoia took over and he over reacted.
Blitzed understands perfectly well. It simply doesn't fit his agenda to admit the truth.
From what I read, most of his time in England (and elsewhere) was all very John Kerry-like in activities trying to undermine the US efforts in Vietnam and then he disappeared for quite a while into the Soviet Union. All this while he was "supposed" to be doing his Rhoades Scholar thing?
It's a wonder she hasn't been struck by lightning for that lie.
Remember... it's not a lie, if you believe it.
Newt was pursuing exactly this point, saying that if the leadership had done anything based on the initial reports (overly friendly email, not pornographic IMs) then the gay lobby would have blown up and killed the Republicans.
"On 9/13 the Dhimmicrats declared war on George W. Bush because they decided that was the only way to regain power, regardless of the cost"
The Dhimmicrats' war against President Bush started before the results of the election were finalized. 9/11 simply became their "cause celeb."
I have no idea if this is why he left, but it wouldn't surprise me if it has something to do with it. Card breached confidentiality and hurt our President and Rumsfeld, IMO. Please see my post #618
Republicans feared being 'intolerant' if they dared to go after Foley.
Good point!
Very interesting since even George Clooney said the President has done more than anyone for Durfur -- said no one has done enough, but Bush has done more than anyone else. That was the day he testified before the UN in answer to a FOX reporter's question (I don't remember if it was Eric Shawn or someone else that asked the question).
see my post #624....we are on the same page...lol
That's awesome! Gave me a good laugh for the day. Thanks!
Excellent post Morgan! I totally concur with your thoughts. I too have noticed some of the Dims using the 'Pubbies are using fear' strategy. If memory serves, I think they used that a bit in the last election. They of course, have always blamed Pubbies for things that they do - - guess they think the Public is too stupid to notice them doing something if they keep pointing fingers at Pubbies and accuse them.
The other one I've noticed since Bubba's tirade is: we Democrats will fight back and Bill showed them how to do it, we won't be pushed around on national security, we're not going to take it anymore. All a bunch of cr*pola - when have they not fought back (albeit, ususally w lies either by them or their mouthpieces in the LSM). They know from poll after poll that the Americans trust the Pubbies more on Nat'l Security and they think if they can get a leg up on that, they'll get power back. Problem is, they don't care how they do it.
Very very true
