That's the issue.
This city and its mayor should be cut off from all federal funding, direct and indirect.
The one thing I regret about Polk is that he didn't seize the entire damn country of Mexico when we had the chance and make it all American territory.

Didn't Polk give it up because his supply lines were too tenuous? If that was the case he couldn't be faulted in hindsight. The Pershing "Punitive Expedition" had similar problems. Fortunately the government of Mexico got the message in those cases. Now it's a sticky wicket where one goes after the masks or the narcos who are really running the show.
Oops; Americans aren't supposed to know that. Never mind.
