It doesn't seem like rape to me. Rape implies something precious was taken. This is like stealing a loaf of bread that was already for sale.

______

Gothca, so by your definition then, a prostitute cannot be raped. Interesting notion. Does that mean a college girl who has sex with a couple of different guys in her freshman year also cannot be raped? Where do you draw the line?

Your post contradicts itself. Stealing is stealing, and this is rape. The cop is lucky to only be looking at a year.

The Psychopaths are out in force on this thread. Rape is rape no matter who it is. If you force someone to have sex against their will it is a crime.

Really? Would you cite a legal source to support that "idea?" Because...I think the law thinks you're full of it....as do most normal thinking people.

Oh...and stealing is still stealing. Abuse of power is abuse of power. Rape is Rape...is has to do with forcing it upon someone else...and is not dependant upon the other's morals. I guess in your eyes...she deserved it.

Rape is non-consensual sexual contact, plain and simple. This girl didn't consent, the cop raped her. He should do the same time as any other scumbag rapist.

Rape is a crime and sex is the weapon.

Does this comment actually make sense to you? I have read it over and over and it is still pretty nonsensical to me.

Which again is a crime. Doubly so because it was perpetrated by a law enforcement officer.

Keep up that attitude and you ain't gonna last long here...

I had thought that I had seen the dumbest statement on a thread earlier today, but this beats it by a long shot... "Something precious?" He threatened her with arrest if she didn't perform oral sex on him. Was this rape? If it wasn't voluntary, then yes, it was. More importantly, he should also be charged with extortion and malfeasance, along with using his authority in illegal ways. Given the fact that we give police officers the ability to use deadly force under color of law, we should hold them to higher levels of expectations.

And BTW, "stealing a loaf of bread that was already for sale" is actually a crime. If you don't believe me, I suggest you try it sometimes. Most stores don't look too kindly on shoplifters.

So, if a woman is married, her husband can't rape her either. I mean sexual relations is part of being married...

Being forced to perform a sex act, no matter who you are sure sounds like rape to me.
