Maube he should get some of the REALLY good blockbusters of old and just run those for a few months.

The last several times I had some free time and thought about going to the cineplex, there was absolutely nothing I had any desire to see.

When you get handed lemons, make lemonade. Pull out some of the all-time classic (or highly entertaining and popular in their time)flicks and run a revival!

He should try to get ahold of some good, classic movies. I'd go to the theater to see a great old B&W movie.

speaking of movies that stink, I just heard that Matt Damon is going to play a young captain Kirk in the next Star Trek movie about when Kirk is training at starfleet academy.

And Robert Downey Jr is going to be the lead in the Iron Man movie.

Maybe he couldn't get a print of 'Flyboys' available.

I do, too. But to make some money he could screen old films, classics like The Scarlet Pimpernel or the like. I used to like going to the movies, the big screen, the popcorn. I'd go see something like that, especially since a lot of the old flicks aren't available on DVD yet.

The guy is an idiot. If he doesn't want to show first run films, then he should figure out another way to make money from the theaters. Unless, of course, he can no longer make the first run features profitable, in which case he's also an idiot.

I wonder if these guys could run an old time film festival, showing nothing but films from the 40's and 50's?

I go to a movie theater like that. It's a real treat that theaters like these have been saved.

My one word answer: Netflix--cheaper, more comfortable, less noise, no seat kicking, free mailings of DVDs, no inconvenience, better selections (from your own personal queue)
