Sitting here stationed outside of CONUS as I read this, lump in my throat, I am very grateful to you all for going out of your way say thanks.

I can only imagine how those who are injured must feel when they see you there sacrificing in your own way to make it clear to those who really need to know that patriotic Americans do love our troops.

" . . . Academia is supposed to be a forum for many ideas, but it has become a platform only for the left."
. . . but what is the left? It is the party of objective arrogant journalism. It is the conceit that criticism is superior to action, the conceit that second guessing is superiority over people who are responsible for taking action and therefore can always be second guessed.

The left is the attitude that second guessers should rule the world. Of course when a second guesser actually attains power, s/he is extremely risk-averse for fear that s/he will be second guessed her/himself.

That is why, although the left seems to be all about big government, the left despises the police and military which are the sine qua non of government. By actually doing things which are important, the police and military - like the oil companies or any other corporation - threaten the superiority of talk over action, making themselves targets for arrogant journalism. And journalism's felow travelers, variously labelled by journalism "liberals" or "progressives" or "moderates."

I am very grateful to you all for going out of your way say thanks.
Thank you for your service.
