An inmate serving a life term for molesting and killing a 10-year-old girl named Katie somehow got "Katie's Revenge" tattooed across his forehead, and prison authorities were trying to determine how it happened.
The Indiana Department of Correction placed Anthony Ray Stockelman, 39, in protective custody away from the general inmate population last weekend after authorities discovered the tattoo, said Rich Larsen, a spokesman for the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.
Stockelman was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to abducting, molesting and killing Katlyn "Katie" Collman. Katie was missing for five days before her body was found Jan. 30, 2005, in a creek about 15 miles from her home in the southern Indiana town of Crothersville.
Larsen refused to comment on what Stockelman has said about it or what else investigators have learned. He said he did not know how a picture of the crude tattoo was taken and distributed outside the prison, including on the Internet.

Yep and bet the authories are playing dumb as they do in the case of prison rape.
The prisoners have their pride, and a firm belief that they have a right to serve time without child molesters and cannibals bothering them.
I really don't know why judges keep sending those guys to jail ~ just let the public know the time and place and then "turn 'em loose".
The problem here isn't the prisoners ~ it's our laws that require us to provide free room and board for human POS.

I forget how to post it so the picture shows up
This' guys going to go the way of Jeffery Dahmer ......if he's already been branded and the guards don't know how it happened.
fyi
No sympathy for this guy. None whatsoever. He got what he deserved, and probably got off light considering what could have happened to him. However, the fact that inmates were able to pull this off points out the fact that they're the ones who are really in contro of the facility, not the staff. And that's not good. If they can do this, they're probably doing a lot of other stuff that the authorities either don't know about or look the other way on.
This crime happened in a town near to where I live. Her name is Katie Coleman.
He handcuffed her and through her into the water and let her drown. Can you imagine?

From watching all the late nite shows on prison life - it seems like prisons are what you might call a "hostile environmment". It's not like folks there need a real good reason not to like you - any reason will probably do - too much eye contact or too little eye contact. Certainly it's long been known that snitches are not well thought of or tolerated. Also I think the crime you committed becomes part of your "Rep" - they want to know are you an armed robber or a murderer or a forger or whatever.
So I think it's not too much of a leap to figure out that when a child rapist/killer shows up in prison - if they didn't already have a reason not to like the guy - that's a good a reason as any.
Bottom line - prison's a tough place.
Got it. Thanks.
From the look in his eyes, I'd say they may also have conducted a prefrontal lobotomy...
It's too bad he doesn't contract a nasty infection from that tattoo and have it migrate to his diseased brain.
