ATTN: Jveritas has just found a memo stating that Iraq was engaging in prohibited nuclear activities. Here is our response:
1. Say that the memo is fake.
2. If the memo is not fake, say that Iraq was working on peaceful nuclear activities.
3. If Iraq was not working on peaceful nuclear activities, say that there's no proof that Iraq was out to attack any other countries.
4. If people point out that Saddam Hussein made a career out of attacking other countries, say that there's no proof Hussein was out to attack the U.S.
5. If people point out that Hussein would have loved to attack the U.S. once he had the means, say that the Democrats always supported the war against Iraq, and the idea that Iraq wasn't engaged in WMD activities was a Rovian plot designed ot make the Democrats look bad.
6. If people point out that the Democrats were against the war from the start, accuse the people saying that of being racists.
7. If they deny being racists, say that only a Nazi would be such a racist and then deny it.

The anti-Iraq war argument is terminated. It is no more. It has ceased to exist, expired, bought the farm, kicked the bucket, and assumed room temperature.
The 10/19/2002 doc mentions plans to rebuild the radioisotope facility between 2003 to 2007! Iraq, at the very least, would have had plenty of ingredients for a 'dirty bomb'.
How many people would bet that the UNMOVIC inspections , and the crumbling sanctions program (which was being thwarted by France, Russia, & the Oil-for-Food scam)could have lasted until 2007?
Blix, el Baradei, et al. would have "certified" that Saddam was "clean" long before 2007. The same fools who had missed Saddam's nuclear rebuilding of the 1980s, as well as N. Korea, Pakistan, etc.!
IMHO, leaving the Saddam regime in place would have precipitated an Iran-Iraq WMD race (with Syria in the mix too), and meanwhile, some of UBL's cronies would have been free to escape via Karachi to the Gulf and to "boogie to Baghdad" for safe haven.
BTW, Qaddafi would NOT have been intimidated into giving up his own nukes. Hamas, al-Aqsa, and Islamic Jihad would still be wreaking havoc today, emboldened by Saddam reimbursing the homicide bombers' families.
It is shocking indeed, to imagine what a bloody mess the Mideast would be with Saddam in place today. Just think of the gasoline prices.
