I was disappointed to see they picked a Blue City as well.
The GOP is in trouble in RED Ohio & what appears to be a snub from the Republicans is typical & sad. (sigh)
Well, this will be a boost for Coleman's re-election efforts. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor in this decision too.
This or Ohio seem to have been the best strategic places to hold a convention given the new "swing" states are places like Ohio, Minn, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, etc...
Minnesota is a state that has been slowly tilting red, the DFL increasing becoming more extreme and irrelevant. Repubs probably think this state is ripe for a pickup in the 08 presidential election.
I hope they bring Bulletproof vests. Murderapolis is back.

Swing state. Republican governor. Bur otherwise not a GOP haven. I wonder who, if anyone, this helps in 2008? Rudy would certainly want NYC. McInsane would obviously want Phoenix. Nobody I know is really helped here.
