As an Ohioan I wish they had held off this announcement until after the election.

Oh well, I'm sure Governor Pawlenty will make a great host for the convention.

Minnesota, politically notorious for the ex-pro-wrestling Gov, the Wellstone funeral circus, and the Daschle debacle. What better place?

They weren't supposed to announce anything until after the midterm elections.

Cleveland would make a lot more sense as Ohio is more of a swing state.

Look for the Dems to pick New Orleans or Denver.

Good call. Minnesota has been slowly trending Republican for some time. It's also a new site for a major convention and could help a fresh Republican face stand out from the gaggle of retreads likely to be running for the Donkeys. That includes Her Thighness, a Presidential "virgin" who will seem more like a used-up old hooker by '08.

Good choice for the convention site, the great lakes and upper midwest are the big battlegrounds for 2008.

Pawlenty for (Vice?) President!

Kool. I was born and raised in Minnesota. The Twin Cities and Duluth are very liberal but the rest of the state is not. They are alot like North and South Dakota, very conservative. If you look at the Minnesota in the 2004 election, its mostly red. Just the cities and Duluth are blue but unfortuneately, they have the biggest population. I think it has something to do with the liberal universities in the urban areas.

A state that proved that even an independent can be a governor. A good place to rally the non committed voters from both sides of the aisle, and the Independents.

Our local DUmmies are already promising to show up as enemy combatants.

I'm a (R) delegate this year, and hope to be in 2008. WOOT!

Minneapolis/St. Paul is a great convention city. I've been there many times.
