Republicans pick the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul for the 2008 presidential convention, GOP sources say...
Why can't it be in my hometown of Bayside, Queens?

Alright ;-)
I keep meaning to enroll in some target practice or something just to actually see some MN conservatives. Perhaps after the convention.

After the Big Deal that was made about the Saint's Game on Monday Night the Dems will be looking to NOLA for their convention.
To: beckysueb
What upset the Dems more was that not only did our NYC pick not come under fire for being a politicized strategy; even many leftists in the media openly reported it as a great choice.

should have been in florida or ohio.

As an Ohioan I wish they had held off this announcement until after the election. Oh well, I'm sure Governor Pawlenty will make a great host for the convention. It probably was leaked by some selfish a-hole blabbermouth who didn't care how it would affect the party.

If they choose NOLA, aren't they, in point of fact, saying that the city has been rebuilt? How would that wash in light of their argument that it has been neglected?
To: trumandogz
Good. Let the Dems go to NOLA in August. The RNC did in 1988 and it was horrible. I was drenched in sweat for a week. By 2008 Katrina will be a distant memory too. Most of the city will be back on its feet. But crazy Ray Nagin will still be mayor! Let the Dems have him as their host! LOL!

New Orleans will not be back on its feet in 2008 or 2028.

It probably was leaked by some selfish a-hole blabbermouth who didn't care how it would affect the party. It's certainly not the October suprise I was hoping for. It was probably some lib staffer over at the RNC.

Hmmm... Is sub-leting boat trips illegal?
Maybe we can go down to Al & Alma's on Minnetonka and book all the boats for the whole week.

There is always another Lindsey Graham, Chuck Hagel, and John McCain just starting their career of climbing and backstabbing.

Another Dumn move. Ohio was where it needed to be held.

A state that proved that even an independent can be a governor. A good place to rally the non committed voters from both sides of the aisle, and the Independents.
