Republicans pick the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul for the 2008 presidential convention, GOP sources say...
Why can't it be in my hometown of Bayside, Queens?
Take the fight to the enemy!
"Have a nice week" ping.
As an Ohioan I wish they had held off this announcement until after the election.
Oh well, I'm sure Governor Pawlenty will make a great host for the convention.
Why oh Why, always a liberal city?
Minnesota, politically notorious for the ex-pro-wrestling Gov, the Wellstone funeral circus, and the Daschle debacle. What better place?
Cleveland would make a lot more sense as Ohio is more of a swing state.

Look for the Dems to pick New Orleans or Denver.
WOOHOOO! My company's HQ is in Minneapolis! This is great!
ping
Me and the missus are about 3 1/2 hours away from the Twin cities. This is gonna be fun!
I'll be thrilled to witness the local moonbat meltdown.
Good call. Minnesota has been slowly trending Republican for some time. It's also a new site for a major convention and could help a fresh Republican face stand out from the gaggle of retreads likely to be running for the Donkeys. That includes Her Thighness, a Presidential "virgin" who will seem more like a used-up old hooker by '08.
Pawlenty for (Vice?) President!
I will not. It is already very hard for me to not run over those ridiculous Code Pink freaks when I see them. They wear sanctimony rather than makeup. I just absolutely cannot stand them and it bugs me to no end that they are Americans and I am not.
If they would just meltdown, it would be great. But you're discounting the violence of which they are capable. I had a Peace through Strength bumper sticker which was taken off my car when I lived in Kenwood. All the Scary Leftwards bumper stickers made open declarations of ignorance around me unperturbed.
This is not a rational people. This is a group of bi-pedal mammals who applaud when a _____ says, "Hope is on the way" rather than denouncing him. Think about it. They're about spreading their 'faith' at the point of a sword. Remind you of anyone?
I can talk like this because I used to be one ;-)
"Why oh Why, always a liberal city?"
Is there such a thing as a conservative city?
Kool. I was born and raised in Minnesota. The Twin Cities and Duluth are very liberal but the rest of the state is not. They are alot like North and South Dakota, very conservative. If you look at the Minnesota in the 2004 election, its mostly red. Just the cities and Duluth are blue but unfortuneately, they have the biggest population. I think it has something to do with the liberal universities in the urban areas.
"But you're discounting the violence of which they are capable."
See my tagline...
;-)
I remember that. They accused Bush of politicizing by picking NYC. Watch them pick NOL.
