Your logic is too flawed for me to attempt to correct, but as to the "retail profit", in your scenario, those profits would accrue to 7/11, no?

At this point, I'll ignore my thirty plus years experience in the retail gasoline business, stop arguing, and allow you to go your merry, ignorant way. Thanks for playing, though; it has been instructive.

Citgo is/was in it for a profit, otherwise there is no point in retail delivery contracts that will not be renewed.

They will still reap in billions and this has been planned for a while, likely due to the decrease in crude from Venezuela thanks to mismanagement, corruption and theft, however, this should still be marked up in the loss column to the tune of tens of millions of USD I would think.

Dear thelastvirgil,

So folks like Exxon, Shell and others sell the gasoline to their retail franchisees for no profit?

Interesting business model.

I am an American living in Venezuela. I am trying to find out where else Chavez makes income in America. For now, I would like for all of you to know that he has spies all over the world in the form of "Círculos Bolivarianos" or Bolivarian Circles. These circles are commanded by personnel he has in all embassies and consulates (Qualification required for being an ambassador is only to be a communist). His new chancellor, Nicholas Maduro doesn't even have a high school degree (no wonder he behaves the way he does). His only work experience prior to being the President of the National Assembly was as leader in the Subway union. He never worked because he always had medical permits. Getting back to the Bolivarian Circles, in the following link and you will see that you might have one in your very own neighborhood:

The situation is more serious that you all think. It's like the invasion of the body snatchers. He pretends to steal your soul...then, who is the real devil?

I would like for everyone to understand that Chávez is not Venezuela. The majority of Venezuelans don't want him as president. The 2004 recall referendum's exit polls proved that over 60% was in favor of his recall. At about 7 p.m. the results were reversed. And Jimmy Carter and Carter Center's hippie Jennifer McCoy were party to one more electoral fraud.
