“Why do we always have to say sorry and they never do?”

Such a simple concept, and yet such a rare statement from our leaders in the West.

What a shame that a class guy like Aznar was replaced by "Mr. Bean".

“It is interesting to note that while a lot of people in the world are asking the Pope to apologise for his speech, I have never heard a Muslim say sorry for having conquered Spain and occupying it for eight centuries.”

Death words. It's just a hudna until they resume operations. This guy had the cajons needed in Europe. Shame AQ helped the socialist wimp to defeat him. At least they failed with Kerry.

"I have never heard a Muslim say sorry for having conquered Spain and occupying it for eight centuries."

That's because Muslims still claim the Iberian Peninsula as theirs. It's one of their main beefs with the Western World. They dream of a day when their Caliphate will encompass all territory that has ever come under Muslim rule. Mr Aznar hasn't forgotten Spanish history, and he honors the sacrifice of the many that struggled for 7 centuries to free Spain from the grip of these barbarians.

I do too. He was one of the few who actually got it. The brilliant Spanish voted his party out after the Madrid bombings, following in the footsteps of their European coward brothers. He is a great man, and should be the new UN head.

“We must face up to an Islam that is ambitious, that is radical and that influences the Muslim world, a fundamentalist Islam that we must confront because we don’t have any choice. “We are constantly under attack and we must defend ourselves,” he said.

Aznar was one of the adults. I would hope to see him returned to office once Spain regains its sanity.

LOL! The sad thing is that Bambi (Zapatero, referred to as Bambi by Spanish commentators because of his stupid "can't we all just get along" combined with his bizarre eyes) really does believe himself to be some kind of special, foresighted man of the future type. Yuck.

I hope the PP gets back in power and Aznar gets some kind of position worthy of his brains, resolve and acumen.
