Clinton rewrites history

For Bill Clinton, the best defense is always a good offense.

That’s the Clinton the nation saw Sunday, pointing his finger and reprimanding Fox News’ Chris Wallace for the crime of aggressively questioning the former president about his role in fighting terrorism and his failure to go after Osama bin Laden.

“They [the Bush administration] had eight months to try [and] they did not try. I got closer to killing him than anybody’s gotten since,” he said.

Perhaps someone should have reminded Clinton that “close” only counts in horseshoes. But that aside, a day later Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice attempted to set the record straight. So why the Clinton hissy-fit and why the attempt now to rewrite the sorry history of his own administration?

Well, perhaps Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) tipped her hand when she said, “I just think that my husband did a great job in demonstrating that Democrats are not going to take this.”

With the mid-year elections coming up, maybe the only defense for Dems is a good offense.

I think they do know he lost it and exposed his real self out there, but at the same time they won't admit to most they saw what they saw.

If Hillary could get a ten point bump in the polls for a Presidential election, he might do well to stick close to his secret service protection.

Morris: Times Offered Clinton Deal

The New York Times wanted to see former President Clinton re-elected so badly that in 1996 it allegedly promised to go into the tank on its scandal coverage - and even gave the president an advanced list of questions for an upcoming interview.

The scathing charge that the Times allowed itself to become the public relations tool of the White House comes from former senior White House adviser Dick Morris, who details the paper's efforts as a de facto member of the Clinton campaign in his new book, "Off with Their Heads: Traitors, Crooks and Obstructionists in American Politics, Media and Business."

In excerpts published Tuesday by the New York Post, Morris reveals that he received a call from the paper's then-managing editor, Joseph Lelyveld.

"I was surprised to be asked by Lelyveld and a Times reporter to help them get an exclusive interview with the president," Morris reports.

"We've tried for months and come up empty," the Lelyveld pleaded. "Can you help get it done?"

When Morris told him that Clinton was unlikely to grant the interview because he was unhappy with the paper's scandal coverage, Lelyveld hinted at a deal.

"A worried frown clouded the editor's formerly sunny face," writes Morris, who quotes the Times decision maker as saying next, "You know, we don't think that the public cares about what happened back in Arkansas."

Unfortunately for "BJ" and the Islamic "cultures" most Americans can recognize a lie, no matter how many times it is repeated, and more importantly they can spot a fake like BJ for what he truly is.

But the problem that is build into all this would be Democrats give the treasury away for the vote and make people dependent on them.
Government employees, many unions and most all dependents of government assistance are so beholden to hand outs and Democrat influence to get over paid that the will gladly live on the lie rather than accept any real contrary truth IMO.
