Frankfort (AP) -- Former NATO commander and Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark blasted President Bush on Sunday, saying he has been "derelict in his duty as commander in chief."

Clark, speaking at the Kentucky Democratic Party's second annual "family day" event in Frankfort, Bush ignored a warning from former President Bill Clinton about Osama bin Laden.

"For eight months, Bush did nothing - nothing. No plan. No action. No diplomacy. No intelligence. No meetings," said Clark, who is scheduled to make campaign stops Monday in Campbellsville, Hopkinsville, Paducah, Owensboro and Brandenburg.

Clark also criticized Bush's handling of Iraq and accused him of blocking attempts to hold people accountable for mistakes made there.

"The truth is, the Republicans have got us stuck in a mess and they don't have a way out," said Clark, who sought the Democratic nomination for president in 2004.

Democrats want to turn the country over to Iraqis, start withdrawing troops this year, provide better equipment and armor for the remaining soldiers and use stronger diplomatic efforts in the region, Clark said.

"The suggest that the War in Iraq has made terrorism more likely, yet they ignore the fact that when NATO started bombing Kosovo, the Serbs appeared to have increased the activities of their death squads in response to the bombing."

Exactly! And this is something that has always bothered me; as the media sends out their scouts in Iraq to search for whatever destruction they can find, I can't recall any journalist reporting back from Serbia about the devistating destruction that 78-days of bombing does to a country. Heck, just the prelude to this war led to a mass-exodus of people which resulted in a humanitarian crisis, which never garnered any of the criticisms that we normally see from the left.

Even after the cessation of hostilities, we didn't get a look at the countryside of Serbia and Kosovo...nor the "body-counts" of civilian deaths that at least numbered 4000. And unlike Bush and the military that do all they can to avoid civilian casualties in Iraq, Serbia was completely different were civilain infrastructure..including power grids, SerbTV and commuter trains, became targets for NATO bombs.

In fact, as John Kerry chastized the US military for daring to shut down Al-Sadr's newspaper in Iraq...in the name of free-speech (that called for the assassination of US troops), no such protestations were ever made when SerbTV was attacked and civilian workers were killed. This despite that journalists in Iraq--including enemy conspirators, are treated with reverence by our own media.

There was never the same outrage; heck, Baghdad Bob became a celebrity who was to be left alone, while the media had no problem with Clinton taking out Serbia's media. Even more ironic is listening to people like Wesley Clark accuse US troops of violating Geneva Accords in Iraq, when he, himself was named a defendant by European lawyers as a war-criminal in this conflict.

If anyone wants to know when the US and post Soviet era Russian relationship took a U-Turn. It was right there.

I remember the footage from the Bomb-Cam as it struck the Commuter Rail Train during Rush Hour.

The Pampered Prince securing his place should Hillary run for POTUS. The Little Lord Fauntleroy of the Democrats is shameless - the trail behind him is littered with bodies as he climbs to his moment of fame...........Fox should drop him as ‘military annalist’…his delusions of Grandeur are equal to Bill Clintons.

President Bush was nearly de-railed getting his administration going because of Algore's claim to the presidency. George Bush is decisive, honest, focused, and doing a Great Job - something this little pipsqueak has little knowledge of.

The most amazing part of Clark's repeated defense of Clinton is that Clinton screwed him several times, most memorably by making him return from his NATO command before his time was up. I just don't get it.

Clinton shielded Clark from his own incompetence about as much as he could have in that particular situation. Clinton didn't screw Clark, Clark was screwing up so badly on his own that it couldn't be ignored.
