The antics of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are a reminder of how wonderful Rudy Giuliani was as mayor of New York. When PLO chief Yassar Arafat attended a United Nations session, Giuliani ordered police to keep him confined to diplomatic functions. After all, who wants a terrorist roaming the streets of New York? Chavez and Amadinejab were allowed to roam around, with the latter giving interviews to news organizations. Its a shame interviewers didnt ask him why his nation executes gays, and why it executes women who have been raped by older men. A followup question might have been why he imprisons dissidents and shuts down newspapers. A third question might have been, did he think his stated position that Israel should be wiped off the face of the Earth promotes tolerance? Chavez, of course, embraced Amadinejab, so perhaps he will be instituting sharia law in Venezuela soon. Mr. Chavez should be asked, since he criticized capitalism in favor of socialism, how come the poverty rate in Venezuela is much, much higher than in the United States? Fifty percent of Veneuelans live below the poverty level. Can Mr. Chavez blame George Bush for that? Mr. Chavez also claimed the United States ran a terrible empire that "oppressed the people of the South." One assumes the U.S. is oppressing Venezuela by buying its oil. A lot of other nations would love to experience such oppression. One yearns for Giuliani. He would have told police to "keep those guys inside the U.N." |
When he becomes President, all I have to say is SUFFER.
Idiot? only the ones who don't get it.
I am a conservative and I could vote for Rudy. TELL me who do you like for the GOP Nomination? Allen is going to be lucky to return to the Senate. Romney is a moderate. Rudy is liberal on social issues, and perhaps guns, but good on law and order, national security and defense. Also on spending.
Remember, he was Mayor of a very liberal city, and had to get RAT voters. I have no illusions on him being as conservative as I am across the board, but consider his leadership and the alternatives.
I'm trying to think of a good list of social issues and abortion and gay marriage are the only ones that really come to mind. The fact that there is too much welfare destroying too many families should be considered another good social issue. I know how Rudy stands on the first two and I doubt anyone could dream up enough other ones to out weigh them.
Gun ownership is a right. That means it doesn't and must never be licenced. The second Amend forbids it and bozo Giuliani can't even respect the Bill of Rights. He doesn't respect me and I don't respect him.
Besides that, I'm sick of govm't jerks and their supporters telling me I need a licence for everything I do.
You've got a real heart there woman.
We'll all be suffering if Rudy becomes the nominee. Why on earth would you back one of the WEAKEST and most LIBERAL of anyone considering a run? Do you have any common sense?
Crime, drugs, education.
You are the blind one. Try reading.
Guiliani is a loser on property and personal rights issues, how's that smoking ban affecting (what's left of) property rights in NYC? Oh yeah, it spread to all of NYS. Good going.
Some perspective: I recall being able to write a check and send off for a firearm. The postman would deliver it. No FFL, no yellow sheet, no NICS, no BS.
Maybe you have not noticed the changes but I have.
No one was worried then about how many cartridges the magazine would hold.
Now, in some jurisdictions, it is a felony to own a tin box ("high cpacity magazine").
The gun grabbers during the Clinton Regime came really close to banning some of my favorite things, and the next pass they will not be as sloppy, nor will the act sunset all by its lonesome.
I want a president who is downright hostile to attempts to further infringe the RKBA, not one who is amenable to that.
Then let them have them. We are a long way from having to decide either for or against Rudy. He hasn't even declared yet. I like Rudy - always have. But, whether I would vote for him or not depends on who else is running and their records and positions.
How about the now state-wide smoking ban and some of his overly heavy-handed approaches to crime? Felony convictions for 1st time marijuana and graffiti offenses? NYC has become a gentrified hipster version of Disney Land.
Why are you getting so worked up. I don't even think Guiliani is a candidate for president. Sheesh!
your lack of concern about 2nd Amendment issues is startling.
