IMHO, unique, personal efforts to contact your representatives are given more weight than pre-written, computer generated E-mail.

Give me a ping when the socialist state of Illinois allows me to excercise my second amendment
rights.
(I won't hold my breath waiting for that ping)

Do you still do this ping list?
Right to Keep and Bear Arms (RKBA)
It's from the updated ping list list.

Just got off the phone with my Rep's (Ike Skelton, D, MO) Lebanon office. He is a pretty dependable pro-gunner, but it is worth the dime to call these folks and let 'em know we are watching.

At this point what I'd really like to see is a repeal of Bush Sr.'s import ban. It would be nice if we could reverse the ffl restrictions of the Clinton era and repeal the '86 new machinegun ban as well, but for the moment I'd just be happy as a clam if guns could be imported freely once again.

I'm in Texas. But after what happened in Waco, what is currently happening at gun shows, and to collectors all over....

I don't know if I would like this to pass. I am like JPFO.org on the bill:
- HR 5092 does not require the videotaping of BATFE firearm tests, which would ensure these tests are conducted fairly and competently.
- HR 5092 does not require the BATFE to establish standardized, written procedures on how firearms are tested
- HR 5092 does not address the BATFE's policy of arbitrarily reclassifying firearms or firearm accessories as illegal, nor require the BATFE to give notice of such reclassification
- HR 5092 does not address the situation of gun owners who may have been unfairly convicted through faulty firearms testing or arbitrary firearms reclassification
I like HR 1603 better, it addresses all of those issues. We need to push of 1603 not 5092.

I am certain my rep., Richard Neal (Communist - MA-2) is waiting to hear from me...I'm deep behind enemy lines in a similar situation. Just remember the law that now enables airline pilots to be armed. Who would have thought that Schumer and Clinton voted for it? They did, but I'm not skilled enough using http://thomas.loc.gov/ to find the roll call vote. I can tell you it happened before April 14, 2003. The Federal Flight Deck Officers (FFDO) program was probably in a bill for the Transportation Security Administration which might be an amendment to a Homeland Security bill.

I wrote my rep... he actually seems like he might be a decent guy -- Michael McCaul. (I thanked him for not being Diane Watson, the last one I was subject to. AAAHHH!)
