The Good Life At Gitmo
ON the military plane back from America's most fa mous terrorist holding pen, the in-flight film was "V for Vendetta," a screed that tries to justify terrorism. It was a fitting end to a surreal, military-sponsored trip.
The Pentagon seemed to be hoping to disarm its critics by showing them how well it cares for captured terrorists. The trip was more alarming than disarming. I spent several hours with Rear Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., who heads the joint task force that houses and interrogates the detainees. (The military isn't allowed to call them "prisoners.")
Harris, a distinguished Navy veteran who was born in Japan and educated at Annapolis and Harvard, is a serious man trying to do a politically impossible job. I spoke with him at length, and with a dozen other officers and guards, and visited three different detention blocks.
The high-minded critics who complain about torture are wrong. We are far too soft on these guys - and, as a result, aren't getting the valuable intelligence we need to save American lives.
The politically correct regulations are unbelievable. Detainees are entitled to a full eight hours sleep and can't be woken up for interrogations. They enjoy three meals and five prayers per day, without interruption. They are entitled to a minimum of two hours of outdoor recreation per day.

I'll bet they're scrambling at the Lie-brary and massage trailer to alter the displays to keep up with the Toon's statements :)
And it's a delight to watch!
In his interview with Chris Wallace, President Clinton repeatedly cited Richard Clarkes book which Cornerites have conclusively demonstrated does not actually endorse the former president as a resolute and successful anti-terrorism warrior.
Theres another book that makes the same point: My Life, by Bill Clinton.
It is telling to note that in his autobiography, which I reviewed for NOR in 2004, Clintons first mention of terrorism does not appear until page 574. Al-Qaeda does not appear until page 797.
At no point is there a serious discussion of Militant Islamist ideologies or of the potential effectiveness of terrorists armed with advanced Western technologies. Had Clinton spent a lot of time working on such issue during his years in office, would that not have found its way into his 957-page door-stopper?
Clinton does say that after the bombing of the USS Cole he considered a large-scale bombing campaign of all suspected [terrorist] campsites or a sizeable invasion of Afghanistan where thousands of terrorists were being trained this was known to Clinton and his deputies. But he decided neither was feasible without a finding of al Qaeda responsibility for the Cole bombing.
What about the bombing of our African embassies two years earlier? Did he seriously believe there was doubt about the responsibility for those attacks? Did he reason that a few years of further investigation might show that the US ambassadors had bombed their own embassies for the insurance money?
Chris Wallace commenting on his Clinton interview on FOXNews right now.
I wish every conservative would start doing that. I'm going to do that from now on with ever liberal starts throwing around the term "Neo-Con", and if they say that's not what it means, I'm going to press them on what it means then and how it's different from a traditional social and fiscal Repuglican conservative and watch them squirm. It's old and I'm sick of them getting a pass on their anti-Semitic feelings.
I think Leisure Suit Larry was more his speed.
I guess I've been through the fear and loathing, as that happened at 30... so maybe it's over for me. [Not looking forward to 60 at all, though.]
That url didn't work for some reason. Was it just me?
I have to go but i will be back for the Mark Levin Thread Thanks everyone and May God Bless
Have fun!
Keep yer stick on the ice!
I'm just now hearing Clinton's petulant complaints from last night. It's stunning, but it does show the Boy President's true nature.
EXCELLENT!!! Bravo. :)
Even among his peers, he is crooked(note the finger).
That sign is about forty miles from here, in Newberry, SC.
