The left says that these kids were spanked as children, were not popluar, had zits in high school, had a parent with PTSD from Vietnam, or some other lame excuse, and thus need to rape and rob people.

That was Carl Rowan, an African-American liberal newspaper columnist.

It's the truth. If I had a dollar for each time some thug was caught and the newspaper account featured a "student" in the accompanying picture, I would be a millionaire by now!

You are correct. They also completely ignore otherwise law-abiding and decent people raised in less-than-ideal conditions. Many of those honest people figured out how to study, work hard, and NOT hold a knife to peoples' bellies to steal their wallets. How degrading of the leftist media to paint everyone of lower-income or who came from the ghetto with the same brush.

And the MSM believes the Iraqi police inept and ineffective because ten murders were committed in Baghdad one day recently. Just plain murders.

I consider those parts of S.E. as a part of Anacostia. Its safe to say Martin Luther King st. in no matter what town you go to is pretty dangerous. Anything in the district east of the river is bad news, and yes the N.W. section you named is also rough, but is in transit now ,Shaw has already turned and other parts are getting better.

Police described two suspects as men in their thirties. One was in an orange turtleneck

I agree, Shaw is improving. A lot of areas are getting better.
