So spraying spaying comments reminiscent of Victorian morality and establishing PC culture is not about fostering conswervative dialogue.

It's just too bad if there is a little "Victorian Morality" espoused in an age of political correctness. I don't think there is anything wrong with humor in a tight situation or difficult time. However, it is not in good taste as far as I am concerned to be humorous about a horrible horrible situation others are going through. Any horrible situation including what goes on in the Sudan, or many other places around the world. Having a sense of humor as you go through a terrible time is Different than having a sense humor about the situation as someone else goes through it. Now I am talking about situations that are beyond our own ability to comprehend let alone be humorous about. Situations that are merciless, cruel, torturous, and having total devastation are without humor as far as I am concerned. The Bible says there is a time for everything under the sun. That includes a time without humor. Faith and fortitude is appropriate in horrible situations but humor that is at someone else's expense is inappropriate and yes, in bad taste.

Humor, the last bastion of sanity in a world of suffering, cannot be dictated to anyone in a country which is free, not even by invoking the word of G_D.

People prefer to laugh rather than cry.

For example, soldiers on the battlefield of Iwo Jima, laughed at men who had protuberant , fat asses who got shot in the buttocks during the battle, because they could not get low enough.Yjey aid things that you would consider nasty. Not because they were not serious, or disrespectful. It was their way of handling the ten thousand deaths of their comrades. Yet no one could deny that G_D was indeed with those men on that day.

Decrying humor on Free Republic is like decrying sanity.

The more humor I see, whether I enjoy it or am offended by it, the more I know that I am living in a nation of free men and women.

And many Americans have died assuring that freedom. So people can have any humor they want, and may it always be present on Free Republic without censure of political correctness.

Neither you or the Good Lord can tell me when I will laugh or cry, that is my choice, and the choice of anyone who is truly free.

And you cannot take that freedom away by anything you say, or even do.
