My focus of dislike/distrust for clinton was Chinese campaign money/Vince Foster/nuclear secrets give away/hillary is a b*tch, not OBL or Monica.
You are not totally wrong. I do not believe the name bin Laden was widely known. The generalization was islamic terrorists. While the name bin Laden was widely circulated inside government the general public was not really informed. The early criticism of Clinton's use of missiles by the GOP was that they were "pinpricks" in the words of Gingrich. But in the first days after the attacks, both Trent Lott and Gingrich were firmly in support of Clinton's policy.
