The bong show (John Kerry)
The Boston Herald ^ | 09/24/2006 | Howie Carr, Kim Atkins

Sen. John Kerry still hasn’t mastered the art of faking an interest in spectator sports. Last weekend in Iowa he told a reporter he was rooting for both Iowa and Iowa State in their football game - an improvement over his 2004 references to “Manny Ortiz” and “Lambert Field.”

Alas, Kerry was caught by a Des Moines Register photographer posing with a tailgating female fan at that Iowa-Iowa State football game. She was holding a “beer bong” - an upgrade on the old chugging technique of turning the can over, popping a hole in the top and then opening the pop top to allow gravity to transfer the 12 ounces into one’s gullet instantaneously.

The photo of the beer-bong-wielding co-ed and Kerry with a silly grin on his face ended up on Web sites everywhere and was even mentioned in The New York Times.

Who would have ever thought John Kerry would be photographed with a beer bong before Ted Kennedy?

Hit and run

Fox News Channel’s popular morning show “Fox and Friends” was in town Tuesday, and the night before, co-host E.D. Hill told a radio audience about her first-hand experience with Kerry in the early ’90s, during his “wandering years,” between heiresses.

Hill, then a Ch. 7 staffer, said she was walking in Back Bay when a female pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Hill said she ran to the nearest door, knocked and was greeted by Sen. Kerry. She told him what had happened and he went back inside to call 911 as she returned to the victim.

“Then the door to where Kerry was opened, but he didn’t come out - an aide, a male aide did,” she recalled. “A couple of minutes later, a car pulled up, and Kerry got in it and left,.........

"Yeah, I can drink you under the table, Grandpa. Let's go, you and me, RIGHT NOW! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! WOOOOOO!"

"Uh...can somebody get the Senator a towel? He yakked all over his clothes."

But, y'know, this could be worse. If it was Der Schlickmeister, he'd be doing shots of Jagermeister with those two coeds and trying to get them in the back of his Suburban for some "tailgating."

Kerry states that he is for both teams....pretty much the way all lib/dems think!!!...they are both for Bush and republicans losing in Iraq and the war on terror and for the terrorists to win so that the dems can gain back power!!! A lose lose situation for the lib/dems and a los lose for American!!!!

In case anyone was wondering why Howie has a co-author on this piece, Kim Atkins...

At the end we read "Dave Wedge is off today. Send tips to dwedge@bostonherald.com." So I guess Howie and Kim pitched in on Dave's day off.
