Nothing will motivate conservative evangelical Christians to vote Republican in the 2008 presidential election more than a Democratic nominee named Hillary Clinton not even a run by the devil himself.
That was the sentiment expressed by the Rev. Jerry Falwell, longtime evangelical icon and founder of the once-powerful Moral Majority, during private remarks Friday to church pastors and activists as part of the "Values Voter Summit" hosted this weekend by the country's leading Christian conservatives.
A recording of Falwell's comments was obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
"I certainly hope that Hillary is the candidate," Falwell said, according to the recording. "She has $300 million so far. But I hope she's the candidate. Because nothing will energize my [constituency] like Hillary Clinton."
Cheers and laughter filled the room as Falwell continued: "If Lucifer ran, he wouldn't."

Bump. Thanks for posting, hah haaaaaaah!
Falwell is a little late. 3/24/01 - on CSPAN I called her Satan's Daughter. http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3abd85202b5c.htm
Does anyone have a tape of the Victory Brunch?
It reeks of Sulfur every time she speaks.
Right you are, no doubt.
imho, Everytime her unroyal lowness, her hideous heinous--Bw*tch Shrillery Antoinette de Fosterizer de Marx de Machiavelli de Pol Pot de Stalin . . . de Queen-O-the-Cesspools-of-Hell de Sade
opens her mouth, shows her eyes, types a word . . .
she demonstrates her demonized covenant with satan and her black heart.
I'd love to take that bet!
I didnt get the reference when I first saw it years ago, so after the movie I went and looked it up. It sounds like "Huckleberry" (which is why I spelt it that way), but the real word is "Hucklebearer," or pallbearer. The "huckle" is the handle on a casket. So he mean, "I'm yo death dealer," so to speak.
Is that the definition you meant?
Accrding to the Internet Movie Data Base:
"The expression "I'm your huckleberry" spoken by Doc means "I'm the perfect man for the job." It is not a reference to Mark Twain's Huck Finn, as that book was published in 1885 and this movie takes place in 1881."
Huckleberry was supposedly the added little spice in a recipe. So according to that line of tradition, just a little more of an added ingredient made the recipe perfect.
Guess he was just waiting for a chance to get in her entourage.
It was a professional development seminar of sorts. He was taking notes.
And Hillary is not the devil. Many...okay, most...perhaps ALL...of her positions are appalling. But she is not worse than the Devil, even as a tongue-in-cheek statement. She represents the views of many, and they should choose her if they feel she best represents them. Our job is to win more voters with someone better. If we offer a half liberal, as looks like we might do, then I'm not voting, depending on which half I'm offered. I will not compromise on certain issues no matter what. Name call if you must. But my vote is for the candidate to win. I owe it to no one.
LOL!!
This according to a poll at www.EvilScale.com, a website which ranks the most evil villains/demons/people ever.
Be sure to vote for Hillary if you visit the site.
