Top 10 for 9/24/06
Here are the top 10. See the honorable mention post for explanations of how I pick 'em and what personal biases I apply to this process. Remember, the rankings are merely my own arbitrary preferences. I will argue strongly only that all of the posts I have highlighted, both here and in the honorable mention post, are worthy of your time.

- #1,038; "... That is the story of Bubba... The buck never stops here... Since most of his situations are controllable with only a controlled number of witnesses in the room or on the line, he can always BS his way out of it with some degree of plausible deniability... What he can not BS his way out of is reasonable doubt. He created that himself when he lied over and over again, never with that woman and other lies he has been caught telling... His Pinocchio syndrome alone of reasonable doubt creates a cloud that always hangs over anything he says... And the more he looks you in the eye, the more he leans over to stare intimidatingly at you, the less you believe him. The ol' boy has screwed himself."
- #1,049; "Great post Ali, everyone wants a sound bite war, and this one is going to take a while.IT won't happen overnight... And all those in the msm/DBM determined to declare this a civil war instead of what it is, a war against terrorism and terrorists who have conveniently located in Iraq for us, have a surprise coming. But once again probably not tomorrow or next week... It took hundreds of years to brainwash all these wackos it's going to take a while to retrain them." (note: in response to AliVeritas post #1,018 of Jonah Goldberg's NRO piece)
- #1,064; "... This has always been the rats plan, to have bubba run again with his fake charisma/BS and carry the day/water for Hillary. Whether it will work or not is debatable. All they know is that he pulled it off twice and there is no reason to think he can't do it again... But Bubba is severely tainted at this point,he still has that dumb chick appeal, but how many of them would vote pubbie anyway? With campaigns always based on half truths, innuendo, always blaming us and never telling the truth about anything always promising the sky and than delivering nada, who better than Bubba... He is their man and always has been. But The New Media can stop him!!"
- #1,211; "... There seems to be a mentality that if a DBM member reveals classified or secret info or intel its o.k. if it harms GW! How this ever came about I have no clue. Part of it maybe that the rats are trying to play the game that if we go after one of them for revealing top secret stuff that they will claim we are just picking on them because they are traitors... That well could be the thinking, it's bizarre but I really don't know why more are not in jail for revealing classified stuff."

- #151; "But I (Clinton) tried, I really did, and no one can blame me because I really really tried. I tried harder than I ever did in my life, except for when I went after that intern with a pizza with her thong hanging out. That was the only time I ever tried harder, oh except for maybe that Broderick chick, she was a real tough one." (note: It's a joke, folks. He didn't really say all of that, but he did say the first part...)
- #219; "Claims he 'never criticized President Bush' ... There are probably hundreds of similar stories, but here is one of them showing this statement of Bubba's to be a lie: ... May 22, 2004 ... Clinton lashes Bush policies ... 'Iraq is about unilateralism versus internationalism,' Clinton said.... 'I have a different world view (from that of the Bush administration). I believe the United States should support the World Criminal Court, the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, the Kyoto (environmental) Agreement and other international efforts.'" (note: continues with great article proving Clinton lied on this claim today)
- #376; "Clinton is always blaming everyone else for his lack of leadership. He wanted everything to be made easy for him. President Bush has sometimes had to take the difficult unpopular path and convince others that he was right... Clinton, very simply put, never wanted to risk his popularity by doing the hard work of making tough decisions."
- #381; "'I've never criticized President Bush' ...Wrong, you have done so on many occasions, you disgraced XXX_President. And you have done so on foreign soil... There are several articles that I linked above in the nine o'clock hour on this thread."
- #603; "I am so glad that the SinkMeister was exposed today on FNC as the low-self-esteem trailer trash which is his true identity. Decent people do not shift the blame for every inaction on others. Another nail today in the Clinton Legacy Project!"
- #758; "The one thing Clinton did accomplish is to divert attention away from the madmen Imadarnnutjob and Chavez and how the Democrats agree with them on most issues of foreign policy, and how worthless the UN is... This may have been his purpose for blowing up."
- #796; "I didn't see this link posted on this thread, sorry if it's a dupe. A very good thread and excellent point about the Clinton Fox interview by technomage: ... Clinton, bin Laden, Wag The Dog and Fox News ... Check it out, the Toon's history rewrites continue."
- #996; "It wasn't a wall. It was more of a fence, a partition or a divider. Certainly not a wall. Maybe a fortification, or a palisade?"

- #111; "(Clinton) is in smug mode right now. Using a question to tout his "accomplishments"...after school programs, reducing the deficit, blah, blah, blah."
- #159; "I will ask others to verify, but when he said he had plans drawn up to 'kill bin Laden' his voice caught on the word "kill." It took him a bit of effort to get that out... Now he is onto the 'I tried' harangue... Oh...you did Fox's bidding on this show. He wants to know how many people in the Bush administration were asked question like this. zHAHAHA! Brings up Rupert Murdoch supporting him on climate change... This is really a BAD interview for Clinton. It makes him look whiny, paranoid, and NUTS!"
- #185; "He (Clinton) is coming across as petulant, bullying Wallace, insulting Fox network, making wild comments like Wallace set him up with this interview, and won't even switch the subject to his Global Initiative, which would get him off this harangue. He won't let it go... Keeps telling people to read Clarke's book... This is a TERRIBLE interview for him."
- #208; "Now (Clinton) is trying to bash Bush for not doing enough in the middle east. Chris is now giving him a chance to brag about his Global Initiative... He is bragging about Branson's donation and others. He has 7 billion in commitments... A fool and his money are soon parted, is all I say."
- #224; "Another slip...you have all of these Ngo's that you...guys like Bill Gates can partner with... Oh.. here it is. Every even numbered year they come up with a security issue. (This is his idea of Rove's strategy.) ... He is an absolute scum. Apparently he thinks that the military, the CIA, and the NSA bring this stuff up for political reasons (probably because that is what THEY did)."
- #383; "Talking points are out. Rat woman pundit on Fox says the following: ... Bill Clinton was right. We are tired of being characterized as weak on terror, when the Republicans have a lot more to answer for. I think voters are going to be asking them about the (Iraq causing terrorism) study and will hold them accountable."
- #397; "... HA! Colonel Hunt says Clinton better watch where he points that finger. WOW! Hunt says Berger and Clarke hamstrung everyone on the war on terror. Hunt says Clinton's statements were NOT TRUE... After hearing this, I am convinced Hunt is NOT working for Hillary."
- #485; "Now, here are the ground rules (per Chris Wallace right now). Half on Clinton's glogal initiative, half on WHATEVER WALLACE WANTED TO ASK... Wallace says he TRIED to get him back to the Global Initiative, but Clinton wasn't havy any of it. (That is true.) ... Wallace says the only way he can characterize it as saying he 'went off.'"
- #489; "Wallace says he is the ONLY one to ask him about his record in fighting AQ! (He reviewed all interviews with Clinton he could find.) Wallace doesn't think it is astounding that he asked the question, but that none of the others asked him at all!!"

- #246; "Ted Turner (on why shouldn't Iran have nukes): 'They're a sovereign state,' he said. 'We have 28,000. Why can't they have 10? We don't say anything about Israel -- they've got 100 of them approximately -- or India or Pakistan or Russia. And really, nobody should have them. They aren't usable by any sane person.' ... Bwaaahaaaahaaaahaaa ... How does Ted have so much money? Is he truly that stupid- how could he have amassed the wealth? His reasoning skills are abysmal. Unless he did deals with a lot of stupid people, and he knows his words are ignorant, but things WE, the people, are that stupid and........ wait a minute... ah- never mind.. he must be talking to the DUmmies, they are that stupid, and he has to know by now that we don't listen to a word he says. Ted knows the media is too dumb to think but quick to repeat anything a Lib Freak tells them.... I think having Ted Turner come out and defend President Imadamnutjob as being sane really helps the Iranian cause... ;-) ... no wonder Saturday Night Live is not as funny as it use to be.....it now has to compete with REAL LIFE!" (note: in response to an article linked by AliVeritas in post #155)
- #323; "I, along with many others, would love for (Clinton) to clarify his contracting comments... I don't think Clinton hired any assassins. Everything we know- through leaks, etc, shows he was always wanting to hand the Osama hot potato to someone else. I think when he says this, he is referring to the aid and support we gave to Shah Masood and the Northern Alliance... I could be wrong. But I think if he had done a contract with some hired assassin(s), it would have come our by now. He has enough detractors on this... If I am right- it just shows how BJ goes into automatic "cover my ass" with spin mode... If I am wrong, it not only shows why he and Hitlery can't do an interview or press conference without strict control due to their hot tempers and lack of control when called to accountability, but it also means we have a former President that has claimed he actually DID DO what the media jumped all over a Christian Leader for SUGGESTING we do with Chavez."
- #345; "If I had been Wallace, I would have taken old BJ up on his challenge. I would have had my staff comb the archives and find the interviews where he, and other Fox reporters DID ask the tough questions of the 'right wingers.' ... I would also have drudged up a few examples of the 'hit pieces' jump-started by Clintonistas against any of their 'detracters.' ... I would have grinned for the camera, and said something like, 'We understand the question upset the former President, but before attacking a news organization because you don't like the question you better have your facts straight. Instead af waving my finger and getting red in the face, we figured it might more professional and effective to refute his questions with facts, not feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings.' ... heh, heh ,heh....."
- #360; "AliVeritas gave me some great links--- the one thing that stood out to me in Clinton's outburst (that I haven't heard anyone else mention yet..) ... Clinton's Crash and Burn... " (note: excellent post with excerpts and links to Q&As with Clinton insiders and others - read the whole thing)
- #458; "So easy to say 'the war is unpopular' ... geeezamoley! ... who on earth would run around saying any WAR is popular? ... plus it just shows how the Dems think everything is about polls and popularity... just like Hollyweird.... DEFENDING and PROTECTING people is about honor and duty....not being popular and making friends!"

- #192; "We know bin Laden bombed the embassies and bin Laden was named in the indictment for WTC I. What more certification was needed to take action? Who runs the country, the CIA/FBI or the President?"
- #202; "The idea that Clarke is a nonpartisan, objective source is nonsense. Clarke shares much of the responsiblitity for not getting bin Laden. How can we trust Clarke to be the source of all that is true and correct? He has a vested interest in making himself look good."
- #259; "I suspect Berger stole stuff related to the Clinton administration's response after the USS Cole. Interesting that Clinton wants us to got to Clarke as the source of all knowledge about terrorism and our efforts to combat it rather than to Tenet or Freeh. Clinton almost never met wit Woolsey when he was CIA Director for two years."
- #310; "Barnes now excusing Clinton's response. The record is clear. WTC I, Khobar Towers, the East Africa embassies, and the USS Cole were done by AQ. Bin Laden declared War on the US in writing in 1996 in his fatwa which included the following:... " (note: great excerpts in post - link has full Al Qaeda 1996 declaration of war against US)
- #334; "... (The Fox round table) could have dissected everything that Clinton said and proved how much he was lying. There are plenty of primary sources and to accept Clarke's version is nonsense."
- #363; "... we get the panel saying, "There is plenty of blame to go around." The facts just don't support that assertion. Clinton had 8 years to address the problem from WTC I to the USS Cole. He essentially did nothing despite his craven claim that he was "obsessed" with getting bin Laden. He turned down offers to accept custody of bin Laden and he knew exactly where bin Laden's training camps were in Afghanistan. The vast majority of the blame legitimately falls on the Clinton administration. That is his legacy and he knows it."
- #394; "... Bin Laden's own words show the linkage between Iraq and AQ. Your excellent translations are proof that there were concrete contacts between AQ and Iraqi intelligence. The 9/11 Commission says there were contacts between them and the Joint Congressional Resolution says that, 'Whereas members of al-Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq;'" (note: more excerpts from the 1996 fatwa)
- #467; "As Bob Kerrey said, 'Clinton is an exceptionally good liar.' Someone needs to counter what he said."
Fifth Place Laverne
- #396; "CNN, Reliable Sources, talking about ... how Clinton attacked Chris Wallace. Roger Simon talks about how Clinton really believes there is a vast right wing conspiracy, and that Wallace isn't part of that, but Clinton really believes it anyway. Adrianna Huffington likes this kind of feisty Bill Clinton (egads). David Frum tells everyone that he realizes no one has read Clarke's book, because Clarke is not that friendly to Clinton in his book, except in the beginning and the end (I haven't read it, so can't comment on Clarkes book). All in all, they gave Clinton a pass for his behavior, except Frum, who said something like it shows Clinton is not really much of a statesman."
- #431; "The NIE is now the topic of discussion ABC, steponallofus host. Apparently the White House has issued a statement about the NIE, that the NYTimes and WAPO mischaracterized the NIE (no suprises there). NYTimes and WAPO always working to support the enemy. Earlier Stephy had on Menendez and gave him free reign and free air time, with no contentious questions (at least for the seconds I watched)."
- #443; "McCain on with his moral highground on Hate the Nation. Must be careful of our image in the world, but it must be balanced with our safety. He is backtracking a little on his position, imho, due in large measure to the negative feedback he got on his stance. Again, talking about the need to protect our troops, but no mention of the two troops who were dragged and burned, tortured, mutilated, etc.; of which there is apparently a video on line somewhere."
- #455; "McCain says Chavez was despicable; at least he agrees on that. Says we need to confirm John Bolton as US Ambassador to the UN -- good for McCain on this issue. LOL; Scheiffer just screwed up big time....asks McCain when he will make his announcement as a democrat for the presidential nominaton! LOL (he quickly corrects himself)."
- #885; "FNC (in the 2pm hour) is still discussing this. Apparently the YouTube(?) video has been a big hit, with nearly 1M watches! LOL ... The host is Jamie Colby(?) and their are discussing that Clinton is saying he is the victim of the right wing conspiracy (HAHA). Jamie's guest Byron York is on talking about how Slick's defensiveness is all based on Clarke's book. But...you need to read the book. And that Slick wanted to get OBL, but he didn't have the will to do it. All slick does is blame the FBI and CIA. Its just like the line from the Path to 9/11 'the buck stops down the hall'".
- #942; "... Trace (yuck) just had on Jamie Gorelick. Did I hear her say that she never built that wall...there was no wall....it was John Ashcroft who put the policies in place that didn't allow the fbi and cia to speak. unbelievable."

- #1,024; "His demeanor changed in a heartbeat. When Wallace was saying positive things he was fine, then the "questions" that he normally does not get asked came and his childishness and lack of discipline reared their big ugly heads. He ranted, raved, attacked and was out of control trying to make excuses for preferring oral sex with a Foolish, immature Intern to doing the Job that he was hired for and took an oath on the Bible to uphold. He looks older than Bush 41,and the long hours under anesthesia during surgery and the decades of Alcohol and drug abuse have taken their toll on that once sharp mind. He is all about excuses, and the "rats" will be spending the next week enabling him because they do not have anyone else that is reliable and electable stepping up to be the Head Rat. Howard Dean is a joke, and is as undisciplined as Slickie is almost 24-7. This Interview is really revealing, and I honestly thought that Clinton was so out of control and crazed that he was going to hit Wallace like he did Dick Morris."
- #1,047; "Excellent find, we must work 24-7 to refute these &**@#$%^&*(&^# DBM, Clintonistas, DNC. In the next 6-7 weeks they will be throwing out lie after lie, and hoping just 1 out of 100 of the lies will stick so that they can back back Congress. Before the New Media nobody especially the DBM would refute or question any lie they told no matter how outrageous. Just on this thread alone, there is enough show prep for every single Conservative Talk show Host to refute every lie, obfuscastion, half truth that they throw out there. Jamie Gorelick is ripe to knock down all of her trash, right after Slickie. It will be a helluva Talk radio day tomorrow." (note: responding to STARWISE post #1,039 regarding Gorelick's wall)
- #1,056; "Undisciplined Children is what the Rats put up there and when they get stressed they start screaming and interrupting. I just wish the Pubbie would say to them 'Would you grow up, or take a Valium?' How about 'would you stop shouting and calm down, chill out, stop spitting in my face'."
- #1,112; "I am not sure where I saw the story or stories, but Clarke had a reputation of being over the top about too many things. I got the feeling he was not thought of that highly because he was always bugging seeing things that others did not see. A lot of his revelations were proved to be nothing, and he was like the boy that cried Wolf. Maybe someone else remembers and can provide a link. It is a shame that a lot of what he was right about was portrayed in the ABC 9-11 Movie as he was right about everything. You could tell he worked for the Company that Produced the Movie. He made sure he got pats on the back."
- #1,177; "I believe you may be right. The Dems act like Clinton did in this interview, pure crazy. The DBM is also throwing all the crappola against the Pubbies, Conservatives, and GWB, and suicidal support for the Rats in the hopes that they can in a last ditch effort win back the power for the Rats. They are so desperate they continue to tick off their readers ,and Television Audience that know they are covering for the Dems. They think just one more Election Cycle and they can handle all the loss of Circulation, Revenue, reputation, Stock Value, Ratings, and past History of Fairness. They are so wrong, but you cannot tell Pinch, Punch, or Puke Sulzburger how stupid and shortsighted they are behaving."
- #1,179; "Imagine, ole Timmah Buffalo butt doing a really poor interview (actually more like a Lewinsky) and Old Chris Wallace doing a very courageous, Pulitzer quality interview and almost being beat up by a mental misfit."
- #1,243; "Does anyone think that because Slick Willy looks like a well dressed cadaver..."

Settled back in and rejoining the fray with a vengeance, MID shows why some of us felt a big gap in our midst for several weeks.
- #258; "... it never ceases to amaze me how the media will create a story, whether true or not, and then try to sell it to the public.... The same thing happened with Enron. First the Democrats claimed Bush & Co were going to bail them out, and when it was revealed that the Bush Justice Department wasn't going to do that the Democrats started crying the blues over the loss of a great American company.... It makes no difference what President Bush does, the spin from the left will be opposed to it."
- #297; "SO! Old Bill admits he, as President of the USA, authorized killing someone? As in assassination? Gee, I thought that was illegal!!!"
- #325; "FBI's Freeh said he only saw Clinton three times and talked to him on the phone about the same number. So that's six but even twice that is not as many as the number of times Clinton called Monica for phone sex (15)."
- #353; "... Clinton has lied so much and so often that he actually believes the lies now. He really is delusional and lives in a fantasy of his own greatness. Everytime it's proven to be a lie he comes unglued and strikes out."
- #684; "Being part of the crowd that can walk and chew gum at the same time, lets not forget the fiasco from last week as Chavez and Irans Mahmoud Ahmadinejad were acting like Democrats in attacking President Bush and what we are doing around the world to defeat radical Islamic terrorists... EX-President Clinton proved, once again, how self-consumed he is and his fear of what his legacy is going to be, but that does not escape the facts of how Democrats have undermined our efforts against terrorism and supported our enemies... Clinton represents a failed administration in the past. Ahmadinejad in Iran, Chavez in Venezuela and Pelosi, Kennedy, Murtha, Reid and the radical left in the US are part of our present problems. All of them, with the help of a leftist media, are part of a Democrat Party machine that is out to ruin our country... Sorry Bill, if you thought you could get us off topic for this election you missed."
- #827; "One loser in all this will be Tim Russert. While Wallace asks the hard questions and takes the heat from them, Russert will be shown as being a soft interview."
- #884; "You're going to love this from the Clinton on FNC thread by ark_girl. The last paragraph is priceless. ... 'Which legacy? The economy that was built on overpriced tech stocks and corperate fraud? Peace with Korea and China that was based on them lying to us and us giving away the family farm? Or that enduring peace in the Middle East that ended with the guy who was the focus of it, Yasser Arafat, dying holed up in a house surrounded by ticked off Israelis?... Seriously, I went to the Clinton Library this summer (just because it seemed silly to live as close as I do and not go look, if nothing else, out of morbid curiosity).... It was very difficult to find anything that he claimed he did that has stood the test of time... Ronald Regan did stuff and it took. He took out the USSR and they're just now kind of hinting at going back to their old ways, 20 years later. Clinton build a wonderful economy and world peace that was so enduring, they collapsed before he was even out of office.'" (note: majority of post is by ark_girl from another thread... but no link provided... shame on you MID <G>)
- #988; "I noticed the last guy on FNC saying the wall was between the Clinton people and the military and CIA. Man, talk about rewriting history! ... I detect a Democrat initiative to rewrite history to blame everyone but themselves. Gorelick says there was no wall, but that Ashcroft extended the wall during his tenure at Justice. Then other Democrats are coming out supporting Clinton's obvious lies and distortions... Just amazing. But, I still think they are doing all of this because they fear the defeat they face in November if things remain the same as they have been these past few weeks. The Democrats are striking out at every issue and exposure because they are getting killed in the public arena now. Voters are paying attention and Democrats believe they can lie and get away with it long enough to get through November... We really have to resist letting them dictate or change the subject now. Our focus has to stay with President Bush's efforts to keep the nation safe, the Democrats being on the wrong side of the interrogation issues, and the great speeches President Bush gave this past week. The economy is doing well and the price of gas has been coming down. The fed has gotten large amounts of tax money coming in... The point is, things are going pretty good and Democrat fear tactic claims have all been proven wrong."
- #995; "His comments were a total lie. Both Lott and Gingrich supported Clinton's efforts and neither said bin Laden was not important... The Republican was unprepared to debate that particular issue, and it showed. Earlier in the thread today there are quotes and comments supporting what I'm saying but I'm not sure where they are exactly... The timing of the Clinton bombings were questioned but never the need or authority he had to retaliate."
- #1,231; "... I believe this is all calculated to change the subject away from Democrats failures on national security and the important issues we have today. They want to change the subject because they are behind in the polls, so they are making wild claims to derail our momentum for November."

He said that right after that interview, it was immediately posted to the Center for American Progress's web site (John Podesta is CEO of this group)...." Here are a couple more: ... " (note: more great facts to slam the clueless Clintoids with about the continuing lies. Even more than that, the lies were totally unecessary. - #550; "'why did he let Clinton keep referring to Clarks book as a reference to his (clintons) attempts to get Osama?' ... 'Clarke is all Clinton's got.' ... - #597; "'This is basically an accusation that Clinton's foreign policy objectives were tailored to his pocketbook. As profound a dereliction of duty and outright treason as I have ever seen.' ... I think a lot of what he did was potentially treasonous. Of course, he and his minions will spin it their way until the cows come home and/or enough people and historians believe their side of the story... Reposting something I posted yesterday on another thread - lots of info in here about Clinton trying to revise history and save his legacy... " (note: another great and lengthy post from SC with lots of insight, links and facts)
- #610; "Many have provided numerous links, but Peach did a stunning compilation. Most of you have probably seen this, but if not - check out Peach's hard work on this link... On this same thread, Stretch Pelosi said the following (DNC talking points. They've blamed Bush for not getting UBL, too (maybe 1 of the reasons Bubba was so determined to try to get everyone to believe that he was they only one that tried). Wonder what they'll say if it is proven that UBL is really dead/dying:.. 'The war in Iraq is the wrong war. No matter how many times the president wants to say it, the war in Iraq is not the war on terror. The war in Afghanistan was.' ... House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made that comment Wednesday in a speech on the House floor. She was blasting a Republican resolution marking the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks."

Too bad Juan didn't have Howlin's compilation of Wag the Dog: ... OLD WAG THE DOG Compiled by Washington Times... " (note: credit to Howlin for the original, linked in post, more examples in SC's post)
- #757; "... (Clinton) can keep trying to lie his way out, but, he forgets about the little thing called the Internet (which his buddy the Gorester invented ;-) Too much info out there and too many people that do not want to revise history to dispute him. That said, since many educators are liberal, I suspect what the kids are being taught and the history books may put his spin on various situations."
- #842; "'Bubba blamed Wallace for not sticking to the terms of the interview....' the MSM is already starting their defense of this abysmal failure yet again of their beloved Bubba ... Neither of these surprise me - As you said, reality shows that Bubba's refusal to go back to the 'format'... As someone else pointed out, expect Lewis and Davis to be on the shows in the next few days. It also wouldn't surprise me if Bubba did this on purpose on Fox."
- #1,255; "... did you all see this. I know some question Dick Morris, but I found this interesting: ... (f)ormer clinton political guru, Dick Morris, and his wife and partner, Eileen McGann, are positing a theory of clinton enrichment that attempts to explain the dramatic increase--from as little as $352,000 in 2003 to as much as $50,000,000 in 2005--in hillary clinton's disclosed assets. ... The authors ask and answer what they believe to be the central question, 'What caused the jump? It might have been Dubai.' ... Also - Doug from Upland wil be looking for Kendall at Peter Paul's case tomorrow: ... Clinton lawyer Kendall accused of filing false statement... I'm not holding my breath, but, if the DBM reports any of this, it could be an *interesting* news week. Kendall is as slimey, or perhaps more so that the Clintons, so I suspect he'll worm his way out of this."

- #351; "... No way I'll fall for it. We know for a fact Saddam was connected to AlQ and no amount of brainwashing from the media can change the facts. Leaks like this (from those who can't say terrorist or write one good piece from Iraq), is a huge part of killing the morale of our military and inside the country; As well as their trumpeting the filibusters and blockages of dems against the Patriot Act, the borders, interrogation and anything else to fight this war... I can never take the word of the NYT... in fact I think the opposite... they start with bad intentions and haven't learned their lesson yet... Do these people think that Saddam would not be funding terrorists as in the past? They continue to ignore all the documented evidence (huge piles of it), because the average Joe or Jane is too lazy or doesn't make time to use their brains and check for themselves. The resolutions, plane shots, gassing of Kurds and funding of terror was enough even if we had nothing. Look for the correction in their snips of the report on G23, in a bottom corner of one paragraph, on Thursday... I guess the party line will go back to 'instead of going to the 'Stan and taking care of that, we have two failed wars'... expect columns from the dems on how they can fight the war better now... Hillary and Kerry first of course."
- #367; "... it's hardly news that the Iraq War inflames terrorists. What doesn't? Publishing cartoons of Mohammad in Denmark, or anywhere else, and Playboy magazine in Indonesia worsens terrorism. Sending girls to school in Afghanistan and the mere existence of Israel fires up the fanatics. And, don't dare let the Pope read a book or a nun will be murdered and churches will be firebombed. The list goes on. Abu Ghraib. Gitmo. A movie by Theo Van Gogh. Everything and anything seems capable of worsening the threat of terror... As a tactic, terrorism is not going to disappear. Therefore, it must be fought, globally and in Iraq. Interestingly, the NYT mentions that Iraq has become the primary training ground for terrorists since they no longer can go to Afghanistan. Simple logic tells us that Iraq is the place to dedicate military resources if the goal is terrorist bud-nipping. Unfortunately, simple logic doesn't apply when a newspaper's opinion pieces are masqueraded as news..."
- #384; "Clinton said he told the Commission to make his mistakes public. What a liar... When Ben-Veniste, Sandy and others were picking which docs. to go in... with them on the panel period... Sheesh."
- #852; "Just got back, did anyone get around to posting the 98 indictment?..." (note: indictment of Osama Bin Laden for the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania)
- #872; "While they discussed the NIE did Sch. or McCain mention the video of Menchaca and Tucker that just came out, Burned and dragged through the streets? I thought not."
- #1,001; "No wall huh?" (links provided to articles disproving claim by Gorelick: Link; Link; Link; Link)
- #1,018; "... NR & Bin Laden 1998 [Jonah Goldberg] ... Bill Clinton in his interview today seemed to be suggesting that conservatives uniformly opposed and denounced him when he launched his "wag the dog" strike in 1998. For the record, here's the NR editorial in response to the attacks, dated 9/14/98: ... COMEDY Central's The Daily Show called it "Operation Desert Shield Me from Impeachment." Funny, but too cynical.... " (note: much longer piece from NRO (link to original) that totally destroys Clinton's argument - well worth the read)
- #1,034;"WASHINGTON The following transcript documents a background briefing in early August 2002 by President Bush's former counterterrorism coordinator Richard A. Clarke to a handful of reporters, including Fox News' Jim Angle. In the conversation, cleared by the White House on Wednesday for distribution, Clarke describes the handover of intelligence from the Clinton administration to the Bush administration and the latter's decision to revise the U.S. approach to Al Qaeda. Clarke was named special adviser to the president for cyberspace security in October 2001. He resigned from his post in January 2003."

Congratulations to you guys. I included Rodguy because he was only on at the end and would have given all of a run for positioning.
I've said it before and I'll repeat it, Freepers are just the best. Not a week goes by that I don't either learn something new or reminded of something I've forgotten.
Thanks too, again, to AB for the Sunday posting. This is still the best thread on FR to keep informed on the Sunday political programs as far as I'm concerned.
Plus, sincere thanks to Phsstpok. You provide almost too much information which has to entail a bunch of work Still.... Thank you for all you do, including the Saturday preview.
With your eye problems, you surely put the rest of to shame for not doing more.

My gosh what a job Phsstpok! This is the equivalent of a mini-Masters thesis. I can't believe you turned out so much hard work and are so right on target so quickly, all that and you are even more under the weather than I. No one can thank you enough.
Also making the top ten in this crowd is an honor and i appreciate it!
Morgan, SC and Ali Veritas. Now there is a truly an unbeatable top three.
We are so glad to see SC return to the thread! She has been a consistent top five poster forever, she has the sources and the analysis.
Morgan's brilliance and shear ability to make everything look so simple is also well know by now. He provides much needed clarity to issues that can be mind boggling.
Ali Veritas IMHO is the uncontested queen of links! There is no issue she does not have a source for and her grasp of topics, old and new, is astounding! Plus she is always right on top of any new story that usually won't hit the msm/DBM for days. She truly is a # 1 poster.
Great job to all who participated.
