Isn't that the truth - I have maintained his economic boom was factious ever since the late 1990's - wish it would have collapsed when he was still in office.
Clinton's ministry of truth has won if that is how you remember it. The dot com bubble, the prime mover behind Clinton's so called miracle economy, collapsed in 2000, while the toon was still in office. The dot com stock market collapse started on 1/15/2000, but we were already coming out of it shortly after Bush got sworn into office just a year later, largely on the psychological boost that "the grownups are now in charge." Things then fell apart again after 9/11 (well duh!).
The Clinton dot com / enron / worldcom fraud economy will be studied for centuries as the epitome of 20th century fraud at the highest levels.
Patterico took Clinton and his statements concerning a lack of questions to the Bush administration apart....... click on link for a great read.

Hey Txie-
Good to see you here.
Been avidly reading your posts regarding William Cohen's statement on the O'Reilly show - was that the radio show or the television show? Have been trying to find a transcript -
WJC gave us quite a little display today...I sure hope the blogosphere keeps rubbing his nose in it. This Cohen quote would serve quite nicely, I think.
Cheers - Dinah
Don't you think he meant "make your bones?"
Absolutely correct, Phsstpok.
And if I remember correctly the first domino to fall in the Clinton economy was the BIOTECH market - this was sparked by some clueless and boneheaded remarks made by none other than William Jefferson Clinton and our dear, dear friend Tony Blair at some DNA conference.
That was the prick that popped the market bubble.
The rest is Clinton legacy.
Bwa-ha-ha-ha.
Cheers - Dinah
I was floored when she said it was a Janet Reno memo they were talking about..........it was HERS!!!
These people are detached from reality.
I'd love to here Trent Lott take to the floor of the Senate and call him a liar, but I don't hold out much hope for that to happen.
Agreed. I'd like to see Trent Lott do that too. The problem is I believe this is all calculated to change the subject away from Democrats failures on national security and the important issues we have today. They want to change the subject because they are behind in the polls, so they are making wild claims to derail our momentum for November.
Something is out there worse than even we know.
That may be but Pets dot com IPO'd in February 2000 for $82 billion. I remember thinking, "Aside from the rude dog sock puppet, just what is it this company's gonna do that is worth that much?" I couldn't come up with an answer. It made no sense.
They failed, utterly, 9 months later. I sometimes wonder who scoffed all the cash. Heartless, but lucky bastard.
Way to go Kabar, richly deserved.
Hi...It was Bill O'Reilly's radio show...and I don't think he puts out transcripts for those...but, I might be wrong.
I do remember posting about it that day..right after I heard it...I am not sure, which thread...but, I was dumbfounded.
This was the week leading up to the 9/11 movie..when we were all hearing about the Clinton's demands and threats to ABC for showing that movie.
I watched BOR's TV show that same day..hoping he would have Cohen on...or at least mention it..but he didn't...and I am pretty sure I also mentioned that...
I had forgotten about it until I heard Clinton getting all upset today about the "riqht wingers" saying he was obsessed with BIN LADIN...
Remember, it was during 1998 that Clinton pushed for the "Regime change" resolution in Congress...and they have shown footage on TV of him giving speeches, talking about the danger Saddam Hussein was back then...and the DEMS echoing him.
Whoa! The above should be millions, not billions. Billions would be a lucky haul, indeed!
Absolutely, theme and diversion, nobody better at it than bubba.
Now contrast that to mr. velvet gloves, Timmy's interview. What a whitewash and sickening bowing down and ring/A$$ kissing .. so you see the two schizophrenic sides of Mr.Slick, and the public can see the split personalities.
The more they show him in the FNC interview .. the better it is for us.
