I wonder if she thinks she has a shot to appear on Jerry Springer or Maury?
She'll need to get a better wig, though.

She probably dropped out of school.

Thank God she didn't cut a baby from her womb. That would be rather difficult to do...quite a paradox, similar to having lava (not magma) within a volcano....or picking a meteor (not a meteorite) off the ground.
Bottom line, don't dis' a fetus...it's a potential baby!

"I feel like an idiot here, but where does it say the childen were found in a dryer? I've read the articles linked, but it doesn't say anything about that."
Wow, the article was changed overnight. Yesterday it said that the children's bodies were found in the dryer of an unused apartment at their apartment complex. Attention was drawn to the apartment because of complains of a strange smell.
Today, that information is yanked!

Bottom line, don't dis' a fetus...it's a potential baby!I guess my comment was too opaque. I was trying to criticize the newspaper article for using the word "fetus" instead of the word, "baby."
To: ModelBreaker
It wasn't opaque; I was being obtuse in an ironic manner. My point was that the newspaper was simply following correct usage, and I can't fault them for that...as I don't want them to distort things to
either side.
The problem isn't the lack of the use of the term baby...the problem is the lack of respect for something known as a fetus.

Apparently the woman in custody has shown no remorse whatsoever.

Before long, the woman will be portrayed as having come from an abusive family, suffered deprivation all her life, borderline mental problems, and on and on. Society's fault, of course.

A place like that almost makes you want to take the few good people out, let them live anywhere else they want to...and drop a bomb on what's left. And who decides who is good?
OTOH it might be a good place to try out sharia law.
To: ladyjane
I'm not suggesting we seriously do that. I just feel hopeless as to how to fix places like that.

I'd assume that the hospital should have done a simple exam on the woman, which would have revealed that she hdd not recently given birth...which WOULD have led to them calling the police.

I understand your point.
To: Malacoda
According to the reports I read, there was an offer of an exam, but she refused it.

At least the media is now calling the baby as cut from the uterus instead of the stomach or abdomen as they did earlier.
To: RockinRight
I know you're not suggesting that.
I, too, am frustrated.
These people have no idea how lucky they are to live in this country. OTOH if they lived in a country that expected more of them, maybe they would rise to the occasion.
