The Neo-Commies all over the net are promoting Citgo because they love Chavez. It's time for the sane people to take a stand. Let's start this at the grass roots.

Download 8 1/2" x 11" pdf version here.

Feel free to distribute widely to anyone and everyone you know.

If the 12,000 "Independent American Owners" would agree to only buy from distributors that don't use Citgo and advertise "We Don't Use Citgo" then their business won't suffer otherwise simply tying their names to the Citgo brand will do exactly what the boycott is designed to do, hurt their business. Distributors can buy from whoever they want and in a competitive US if a distributor sees more buyers from not pooling with Citgo then they would do that. As for the oil part there is no way around that but the refined product is another.

Agreed - a boycott of CITGO stations will only result in the 12,000 independent station owners (who are Americans) being thrown out of business - it will do nothing to hurt Chavez or lower his oil income.

All the gasoline refiners have sharing agreements where the gas is "pooled" at major distribution centers and then farmed out to various retail outlets covering all "brands" of gasoline -

Before shipment by truck to the gas stations it is placed in blending tanks where the special chemical additives are added to make it become "Shell" or "Exxon", etc

Thus it does not matter which brand you chose to boycott or purchase - either way some of that fuel was made from oil that came from Venezuela

I keep hearing these exact words used by all who are against it like they all got the same press release?

Not useless.

CITGO is 100% owned by Venezuela.

Venezuelan oil can only be refined (to any great capacity) in the US because it is really heavy crude - more like sludge.

Make him choke on excess crude supply with no current means to refine. That will put a spike in his pocketbook and heart.

I happened to have the TV on Cavuto yesterday.

Dagan McDowell was doing commentary. She complained that the suggested boycott of Citgo would hurt small station owners. In the next breath, she advocated that the way to hurt Chavez was to stop buying Venezualan oil. [She repeated this advocation again during her commentary.]

Neal didn't ask her about the contradiction in her statements.

Just wait until Christmas season starts. The dreaded "War on Christmas" will start again, and we'll be pelted with chain emails about how Target only supports gay charities and Wal-Mart hates Christmas.

We had several CITGO stations years ago, but are down to only one, and I have never bought a drop of gas there...

I'm not buying Citgo gas, who cares if it will hurt Chavez or not. At least I know I'm not consciously giving him my money.
What about the Navy, I believe they actually have a contract with Citgo, it's one of the armed forces and they use Citgo exclusively. That's a contract that needs to be shredded immediately!

Too bad for you. I won't buy BP since they put on the "carbon footprint" dog and pony show..

Personally I can't stand those stupid commercials where they have frighteningly underinformed yobs on the street babling on, regurgitatin left wing garbage about the environment.  Have a shave, pull up your damn pants, and shut your pie holes, ya hippies.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.

Venezuelan oil is gradually being replaced with sour crude from other countries.

However, our U.S. oil companies still have extensive operation in Venezuela and have had for decades.

Since oil is fungible, we will always have some oil from them in our pipelines, but the percentage will decrease gradually. The last I heard, it was down to about 11%. It once was much higher, in the neighborhood of 15-20.

We won't need to do much to get them out of our domestic distribution, because Chavez is gradually selling off his assets in the U.S. without the need for encouragement. He does not want the U.S. anchor around his neck as he continues to vilify us.

We have one Citgo station in the small town I live in - it is owned by a guy from Turkey - while talking to him one day he said he is not a US citizen and sends all his money back to his family in Turkey and he has no intention of bringing them here.
So I guess he is one of the 12,000 owners but he is not an American and I will not feel guilty boycotting him.

Useless. Venezuela will simply sell its oil to other refiners.

Not quite useless. My not buying Chavez's gas won't keep him from doing his evil. But by golly, he won't be using my money to do it!

I didn't buy it, my granddaddy gave it to me back in the early 70's.

Yeah, the carbon footprint "green" crap is annoying.

Oh, it's that old "boycott Exxon/Mobil on tuesday" crap. I'm sure you got an e-mail like that 2-3 years ago.

Hehe...I guess the boycotts have been entirely unsuccessful against EOM.

Why not pull a page from Chavez's own playbook and have the U.S. government "nationalize" Citgo stations?

;)

What really doesn't help things is when cities like New Haven, CT buy their oil direct from the commies.

I happened to have the TV on Cavuto yesterday. Dagan McDowell was doing commentary.

I caught that also and she used almost these exact words.

It's almost like they are ready from the same FAX.
