If I was a betting man, I would bet a lot of cash that Rangel received a phone call from "somewhere up high" in the party and was "told" to make that statement.
To me, after hearing Rangel's harsh and passionate rants for so many years, it was clear that his heart was not in that "admonishment" of Chavez.
In typical Dem fashion, I believe Rangel's comments were staged, scripted, poll driven, and not stated from conviction, but for political advantage.
It won't work. This much, the majority of the American people won't fall for.
