Sgt. Dustin "DeCol" Dimitri DeCol, 21, a native and resident of Houma, died
at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006.
Military service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Hall
Post No. 31 on 602 Legion Ave.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Deon DeCol of Houma; his parents, Daniel
"Pops" DeCol and Jana "Momma D" Blanchard DeCol of Houma; one unborn
daughter; one half-brother, Lamont DeCol of Shreveport; one sister, Destini
DeCol of Houma; his paternal grandparents, Lamont and Evelyn DeCol of San
Diego; his maternal grandparents, Nauly and Jessie Blanchard of Houma; his
mother-in-law and father-in-law, Melton and Judy Deon of Dulac; and
numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Xavier and Cornelia
Duplantis, Honore and Elvira T. Blanchard, and Ove and Ruth Holm; and one
aunt, Lane B. Dorsey.
He was a U.S. Army combat engineer/sniper.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 380, the VFW Post No. 3700
and United Veterans League. He was the worlds best husband, son, brother
and friend and would have made a great father.
He was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, plants are preferred for construction of a Memory
Garden.
