If you don't have a human tongue bone, you can't use your tongue for speech, therefore no human language could exist, therefore no advanced intelligence either.

The song, “Dem Bones” could never have the hyoid as a verse, because it’s the only bone that isn’t articulated to another bone somehow. The hyoid bone *isn’t connected to the ____ bone ;-D

And we could never have the level of speech with the hundreds of individual sounds we are capable of without it.

It’s a very spiffy bone.
