Crew member Torsten Sandmark walks a across a wooden plank to exit the 78 foot long wavepiercing trimaran named Earthrace docked at the Oceanside Harbor on Tuesday. The powerboat, which runs on biodiesel fuel, is going to attempt to break a non-stop around the globe world record using only renewable fuels next year. HAYNE PALMOUR IV Staff Photographer

The around the world speed record using renewable biodiesel fuels . . . doesn't this seem to be reaching just a bit?
The design is impressive and mean looking but so is Sean Penn dressed in black leather from head to foot. But that doesn't make him the heavyweight champion of the world.
I predict these guys will be rescued by a Japanese freighter somewhere in mid Pacific.

Bio-Diesel is basically vegetable oils from any plant source. Renewable is self explanatory.......
