Kinky Friedman Closing Gap on Rick Perry
surveyusa.com ^

Posted on 09/19/2006 8:05:58 PM PDT by Lunatic Fringe

Perry and Strayhorn have regressed, Strayhorn by a considerable margin, while Bell (15 to 23) and Friedman (16 to 23) have moved up. Bell is finally consolidating Democratic support (from a pathetic 32 percent in April to 44% in July and 55% this time) and is getting more Independents (from 10% to 18%), while Friedman has picked up Republicans (from 10% to 23%) and more Indies (32% to 39%). Both Perry (65% to 56%) and Strayhorn (20% to 14%) have seen their GOP strength decline. Strayhorn has also seen her Democratic support wane, as she's dropped from 30% to 20%.

LOL..you have exposed your liberal priesthood..."Spare the rod and Spoil the Teacher"..(Anne Coulter)

If someone enters the teaching profession for the big bucks, aren't they too stupid to be teaching our children?(Anne Coulter)

I could go on and on...I urge you to read her book or just the chapter dealing with education. John Stossel really did do an excellent report a few weeks back. Many charter schools doing more with less money for teachers(and swimming pools) and students scoring higher on standardized tests.

If Kinkey can show a plan that can pass the Texas House and Senate that will give us property tax relief without a State Income Tax and show how he will enforce Texas Border Security via Texas law I will vote for him. Otherwise I will hold my nose and vote for Perry.

When hell freezes over two years in succession and Teddy Kennedy quits drinking and Bill Clinton tells the truth two days in a row I will vote for Strayhorn and immediately increase my psych meds. :)

teachers in illinois make a hell of a lot more money than texas teachers....you don't get a better teacher when you pay more money. you just end up with a bankrupt state and unfunded pension.

my wife is a texas teacher who worked her tail off. she loved teaching and didn't do it to get rich. she won't teach up here in illinois due to the ridiculous unions they have up here.

What a lame argument. No, teachers don't enter the profession for "the big bucks", so Coulter's conclusion is invalid. But it makes for a great punchline, doesn't it?

I urge you to read her book

Umm.... no, thanks.

If we want a flack choose a harmless one: dig up "Pappy" Leo O'Daniel.

Your wife is an angel. Tell her to help us take back our schools from the leftists. There are many groups and foundations supporting people just like her to lecture on our college campuses. Email me in the morning if interested and i will give u a long list...lol

I am no fan of TAKS, but that is because of the quality of the test. Abolish it and you will be back to the old system where kids just glide through high school. The SAT is not perfect,; neither is the LSAT or the GRE. The good thing is they give some measure of success. Given that teachers are probably not as well educated as they were fifty years ago, you will continue to get graduates who can't write their own name.

Try this "fact" on for size: Kinky is the only candidate in favor of putting THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and prayer back into every public school in Texas.

There's GOT to be a punch line following that statement (out of K's mouth.)

Not really much alike. I knew Ann Richards forty years ago.

Mexican immigration has had an enormous impact on our school system here in Texas as well and liberal policies in Austin and politics on both sides have made Texas impotent in the face of it.

Bingo!

If you enter teaching to get the big bucks, be sure you get into administration or into coaching. Let me modify that: Coaches really don't make big bucks until they go into administration, which is why 70% of administrators in Texas are ex-coaches. Administration is the last refuge of a losing coach.

So in Texas education, losers make big bucks?

Most school districts are still more worried about their football program than about the Mexican kids.

I think the best paid coach gets about $120,000 a year. Many assistant superintendents get more than that. And high school football coaching is a rough game.
"Friday Night Lights" is too true to be funny.

Kinky winning this election would be one of the greatest things that could possibly happen this election cycle. I wish I lived in Texas so I could vote for him.

"Looks to me like he's qualified for the job."

He's a joke. It would be like voting for Bozo the Clown.

"If Texas actually elects Kinky your state will be a real laughing stock in the country."

You are exactly correct. Voting for that guy is nothing short of irresponsible.

It would be like having Henny Youngman as governor. But then again at least HIS one liners were funny.

Looks to me like the Libertarian vote on here is for Kinky once I saw the pro-drugs. He isn't even close to be a conservative while some Freepers proclaim they are conservative. Their support of Kinky speaks volumes.

These people pretend to be Republicans but get outed everytime. Thanks for posting the facts.

Why?
He is smart enough to know that ruining kids lives for smoking pot is stupid.
We spend way to much time and money chasing pot and not enough chasing criminals types.
But hey, ya gotta have a way for all those lawyers and counselors to make a buck.
